got a g90! (updates)
a guy came with a loaner to my office around 9 as scheduled, took my g90 away, returning about 2 for the reverse swap. painless,
the service consisted of oil change, tire rotation and inspections. i also asked them to look at 2 things.
1. shifting to reverse occasionally would show the red R selected but when letting go of the lever, it would then go to N (neutral). A second or third fo would get into R. I'd tried it fast, slow, more deliberate, no rhyme or reason it seemed.
2. The car detects if hands are off the steering wheel for too long at which point it will make a sound and then, if it still doesn't detect hands, will disable the lane keep assist, so drivers don't rely on it for long stretches. anyway, it beeps sometimes when i have both my hands on the wheel but fairly lightly and i feel it's too sensitive, so i asked if they could adjust that.
on 1. they said they reset some software and so far, the reverse issue hasn't happened again.
on 2. they said there's no adjustment.
a guy called me about the issues to discuss (nice) and said if 1 recurs they'll replace the whole electronic shifter and to let me know if 2 remains a problem and they'll find options.
other than that, ever have that feeling the car drives even better after an oil change?

Really enjoy the car, it's quiet easy power, room, amenities and ride quality, and incredible build quality.

BTW, its not like that anymore lol
From what I am reading, seems to pretty much be trouble free. Every car, especially newer models like the G90, will have some minor glitches here and there - even the vaunted Lexus is not immune to that. But thanks for the updates, bit!

happy to say so far neither has reoccurred. item #1 was far more frequent (just about every other time i put it in reverse) so glad that seems to be solved!
going in for free service on friday. like before, they come pick it up and leave me with the loaner, and later they return my car and take away the loaner. i never set foot in the dealer.
car is wonderful, but asking for 2 items to be looked at when it goes in on friday.
1. slight front end vibration at highway speed, tends to go away after i've been driving a bit (likely tires warming up) - i figure it's tires but heck, might as well have them take a look
2. the volume **** sometimes makes the volume go the 'other' way! i saw this reported on the internet and not just on the g90 so it's not just my car apparently... so i rotate the vol **** clockwise to increase volume, and the volume goes down! apparently a software glitch. not a biggie as i use the steering wheel vol control 90% of the time and use the vol **** just to push to turn if off/on.
random update... i use the alexa app on my phone and on the echo dot in my office pretty much every time i leave to remote start the car. it's easier to talk to it than use genesis' own app.

"alexa: tell genesis to start my car" it replies "to start your black genesis g90, please provide your pin"... say it ... and about 30 seconds later, the car starts.

That is a really weird bug with the volume going the wrong way. Not a huge one but... how?
