Because his principles and actions dont align. Its been deleted by super mods. Its fine let it be.
Kinda missing the point. In this thread here, was anything they said about politics?
No... Nothing. You made it to be political.
If they were political in one or many other threads. That doesn't mean you get to "Oh yeah... well you...." and drag it in another thread.
Case in point why politics get stuff deleted and threads closed.
I for one feel that what @Toys4RJill did took courage, and I salute you. As one that gave Jill an extremely hard time (occasionally ), I apologize.
Now to the moderators, I'm not requesting you guys to implement censorship or crack down on free speech, but to moderate. Come up with some logical rules, and implement them. At the top of these rules should be civility. Also thread derailment has to stop. And yes, as someone who is guilty of this myself, thread starts straying off topic, mod needs to step in.
One last thing. Public outing of someone who reports another member... should not happen. Take them to PM if you want to tongue lash them.
I hope the admins will take this as constructive comments and not criticism
What is considered thread derailment is subjective. Like if car or gas prices becomes a topic, naturally it will lead to discussions about tariffs, Iran war, Trump, govt policies and etc. Similarly, new entrants to the market are also effected by most of those factors and naturally they will enter the discussion. How many of us get to experience new cars in person? We base our discussion on pictures and share thought processes with each other. Just be courteous and dont start calling people bad names like Elon, Tesla, Trump and etc.

I think this really depends. There is no reason that the conversation in a thread can't naturally flow.

Actually there is a lot of posting and engagement in the model specific forums if you look. The group of people in those forums is different than those in Car Chat.
Also, I dont see whats wrong with having 15-20 good participants in a forum like this.
You cant expect engagement and get new members when people have to toe the line on what they say. If you are going to do that, make it a subscriber forum where people pay a fee to join. Otherwise just let people have open discussions. I dont even know why the new owners even bought this place. Was it a revenge business decision made by a disgruntled departing employee of the new owners? lol.
There is no new ownership, CL has been owned by Internet Brands for 15+ years. There was a change in administrators.
And, what you describe wanting is 100% what the new administrators and Internet Brands are trying to accomplish, allowing more free and open discussions.

Caused my fair share of drama in those EV threads...but the forum was set up that way. My apologies too

Disagree...threads go off topic are sometime the better threads, its when the mods are like "thread went off topic...it went from Toyota-Tesla and now Honda" .. that killed the engagement

Perhaps consulting with those 20 members posting to find out what causes engagement/disengagement would perhaps be of the best interest of all.

.
That's 3 different threads.
And, not all engagement is good for the sake of engagement. Lol

Anyone on Club Lexus can post here if they want to.
For stuff not car related, there's a whole world out there of social media if someone wants that too.
I reject the idea if anyone thinks the forum isn't growing because of the 15-20 people who post here regularly are somehow the problem.
Lots of good people here.
The same 15-20 posters is not about right or wrong. It's simply lacking growth in engagement. Lurkers will lurk and eventually go away. You want people to engage with each other and continue to do so.
I have gone to the model specific forums and posts are far and few in between. Car Chat is where the energy is at and should be kept going.
