Whatever... Saying basically "that you hope no one takes offense", then posting your ignore list, is what I was pointing out.
people don’t have to get along on here, but it should be up to them to sort it out. And say what the need to say, previously it was like walking in eggshells..Take the feedback or don’t but that is what it was like in the past in this site. Not my say. Just pointing out how personally caused tons of trouble, totally take responsibility for that past drama..been told to timeout for days, weeks and then months at a time, been forced to add people to that list, told to stop replying to some, it goes on and on. Then at some point built list, mods stopped PMing me and stayed out of the big admins cross hairs for a good number of years. So if that post is that bad and off, delete it or tell me to delete it. It’s not my say what is allowed to be discussed, but the forum is far more engaging since the change at the top.

IMHO, Ignore lists are next to worthless...that's why I don't use them. They only prevent YOU from seeing someone else's replies to your posts. They do not prevent the person you don't want to deal with from seeing your own posts and replying with personal barbs.

-this site went really downhill with the constant censorship…
-banning politics is an error if engagement is what is desired. Everything automotive is political…for example (Canada’s pivot to China for electric vehicles was a political statement). How else does one frame the discussion? Canada buys 1.75 million American made vehicles and that is now on the decline as Canadian customers pivot in their purchases. How else to discuss? The current America’s tariffs are an attempt to deconstruct the North American electric vehicle supply chain as EVs vs ICE is a political thing. It’s a California thing. Where are all the new battery factories…in Kentucky, Tennesee, Michigan..…just saying, there is politics in every part auto industry. Talk of politics is a must…my 4Runner V8 is still on the road because the conservative government abolished emissions testing. Akio Toyota wore a MAGA hat and faded no backlash..it should Toyota wasn’t a political company
-perhaps members who don’t like something, should just not read it, if two members want to duke it out…reinforce individual members choice that they don’t have engage. It is on the member to cooperate
-closing thread is mostly a mistake. -personally have caused my fair share of trouble on this forum…but, the last few years or so…was able to stay out the previous admins wrath but creating an ignore list went a whole bunch of years with no private PMs. Here is my ignore list
Spoiler
Even sent the previous admin an apology for all the drama. Members should be encouraged to create their own ignore lists
-the merge of the EV and ICE threads was an excellent decision.
-allowing swear words was a big mistake..one can **** but they can’t say TRUMP..it doesn’t make sense…it doesn’t fit
-the members are the drivers of this forum, the members create the engagement, perhaps the mods could consult one on one with the most regular members to find out what everyone truly wants?
-hopefully politics is not banned
-one request..please don’t close the Hyundai/Kia recall thread… that thread is epic…it truly brings balance to the force
I for one feel that what @Toys4RJill did took courage, and I salute you. As one that gave Jill an extremely hard time (occasionally ), I apologize.
Now to the moderators, I'm not requesting you guys to implement censorship or crack down on free speech, but to moderate. Come up with some logical rules, and implement them. At the top of these rules should be civility. Also thread derailment has to stop. And yes, as someone who is guilty of this myself, thread starts straying off topic, mod needs to step in.
One last thing. Public outing of someone who reports another member... should not happen. Take them to PM if you want to tongue lash them.
I hope the admins will take this as constructive comments and not criticism

Totally agree and I said as much publicly and private to a mod a few years ago. It's always the same 15 to 20 people posting. This forum is basically dead once you go outside of car chat. You cant expect engagement and get new members when people have to toe the line on what they say. If you are going to do that, make it a subscriber forum where people pay a fee to join. Otherwise just let people have open discussions. I dont even know why the new owners even bought this place. Was it a revenge business decision made by a disgruntled departing employee of the new owners? lol.
My original comment was deleted but my thought stands. If you claim you never cursed, but then support the most vulgar person on Earth, nothing squares up to me and I have no problems calling people out like that in real life.
