Yet he’s not buying an EV. 😂

He wants a 3 row 300 mile luxurious EV. Is there such a thing?

There's a special going on on the electric Escalade....

Are you sure it's too big? It looks way smaller than the regular one.

And he is very sure that the whole "running out of charge thing" is just "silly". Said so yesterday. So range clearly isn't an issue or excuse. Before that it was access to superchargers, but that is no longer an issue.

But it all fairness, he does own a PHEV. So he's at least proven himself EV-curious. lol.

Audi will be releasing 2027 PHEV Q7, likely coming out later this year in the US.
May not be roomy enough for you though.

Yep, I don't disagree, other than then "tech/glam vs hard engineering". I want a car that has the chassis and suspension sophistication I want, but this is a family vehicle not my own personal vehicle.

There are actually many of them. Rivian R1S, Cadillac Vistiq, Cadillac Escalade IQ, Mercedes EQS SUV, Lucid Gravity, Volvo EX90...way more 3 row full EVs than PHEVs.

Its actually considerably bigger than the regular Escalade, its about the same size as the Escalade ESV and the IQL is even bigger than that. Its a massive vehicle.

Escalade is 211.9 inches long, Escalade ESV is 227 inches long, Escalade IQ is 224.3 inches long, IQL is 228.5

Q7 is a little tight but probably similar to the XC90.

Thats another example of why buying the Pacifica and waiting might be the better move.

Yeah I'm not worried about that. My BIL just got a Rivian and thats who we primarily go to visit in that family vehicle, so he will have a level 2 charger at his home. That solves that. Going to the beach there are superchargers there now, that solves that. WV is still an issue, but we only do that trip in the family vehicle once year, otherwise I do that trip alone and I'm in my car.

Not sure your route to/in WV, but my partner has a Tesla and drove down to SC and back 2.5 years ago along Interstate 81, and only had to stop to charge 2x each way. And the Tesla nav optimized his route and he stopped at a hotel or convenience store right off the interstate each time for 20-30 minutes.

Now which are less than $85k?

If I recall that was top of your price point.

With leasing, the MSRP is almost irrelevant (to a degree). All about MF, RV, rebates, and the dealer's willingness to deal.

I go down 81, charging on 81 is no problem. Now with the Tesla supercharger access there are a couple options on 64 also. My issue in WV is charging it while I'm there since my cousin doesn't have a level 2 charger and the closest fast charger is 30 miles away.

Doesn't have to be less than $85k, like stasek said we're leasing, I'd like to keep the payment below $1,000 but more likely up to $1,250. All of those vehicles I listed (except the Escalade IQ) can be leased for that or less.

Vistiq is a very good looking car. I wonder what the reliability would be though. How are Cadillac EVs in general?

IMO the Q7 is a 4 person car, the 1st gen has more space but it's still not really that great unless you put smaller people in the rear row. Current gen is basically the same as an XC90 so likely too small for you vs what you are used to

Vans are extremely hard to beat, they are the most optimized shape for a vehicle and objectively the clear and obvious choice for most people in terms of function.
