The one thing I don't get with passenger minivans is the dreaded sliding door. Whoever though it was a good idea? I believe the original Pacifica in the early 2000s came with regular hinged doors?
The sliding doors are the whole point! Thats what makes access and loading of kids so much easier. The sliding doors are literally the only reason why we have a minivan.

You always say that but its not true. I have had 4 minivans and have never had any issues with the power sliding doors. I also know lots of people with minivans and none of them have had issues with the sliding doors.
I got both the cars washed today, and I was at the carwash vacuuming the Pacifica out and wiping it down and all. The woman next to me goes "Getting the van cleaned out huh?" and I go "Yeah my kids are pretty hard on it" and then she goes...."Are you married?" and I go "Yeah I am" "too bad" she says LOL
Hey man, the chicks dig it.
True story, I haven't been hit on by a woman in a very long time!

How long are those minivans kept? You typically keep yours for maybe 2 - 4 Years. It is true that the power-sliding doors are more reliable than they used to be, but it is also a common fact that, over time, they have been one of the more undependable minivan features.

I have plenty of friends and family members who have 100k+ on their vans. Its way overstated. The doors are fine.
