so i got fsd 14.1.4 the other night but hadn't had a chance to try it out until today.
car was parked in my garage, face in, i get in and said to the car "navigate to best buy" and engaged self driving while in the garage without doing anything else. don't even need brake pedal now. it backed out of the garage, unfolded the mirrors that it knows have to be folded when entering the garage, turned down the driveway and headed out. i didn't do ANYTHING on the journey, and it pulled into the BB parking lot about 15 miles away with lots of different road situations between and some dense traffic toward the end, and proceeded to PARK FACE IN into a spot, perfectly. i then just got out and walked away (and of course it locks itself). i was pretty stunned.
after doing my pickup i did the same thing to go home. it wasn't able to pull into my garage for some reason but i'm sure that's just an update or two away.
We completed our 2,500 mile+ round trip journey today. Most of that was while using FSD (v13.2.9). I would rate it an 8/10. I'm taking off for it's inability to track the speed limit accurately. After further testing, it does seem to actually read them (sometimes). In GA, it was just randomly reading 40 and then reverting to 70 without passing any signs. However, today I saw it read 3 signs in a row. Unfortunately, they were 70, immediately followed by 60 and then 45. Those are signs stating "speed limit", "trucks over 4 tons limit" and finally "minimum speed limit". Those signs are in close proximity and our Y chose each one and finally settled on 45 MPH. The only plus side is that it doesn't reduce your speed any. It just shows the lower speed. The max stays the same, so 45 with a max of 85.
The other issue was with vehicles on the side of the road and some lane closers. Other than that I was highly confident in its ability to navigate through heavy traffic. It was definitely more aware of what the surrounding vehicles were doing than me. It moved me a foot out of the way when a car veered towards us once from the back side.
I'm sure some of these issues were addressed with v14. This was a huge improvement over a version we had about a year ago.

to say i was impressed is an understatement.
That's fantastic. Can you imagine showing that experience from beginning to end to someone who has never been in a car that can drive itself? They'd think they were 20 years in the future. I remember last year I took an older (I think he's around 80 yrs old) family friend out for dinner and I offered to drive him back to his hotel afterwards. He had never been in a Tesla, and didn't even know FSD was a thing. I used FSD from the restaurant to his hotel entrance and he was laughing and smiling like a kid in a candy store. It was actually very cool to experience his amazement.
I enjoy reading the FSD updates from folks here since I never use mine and I'm also slightly behind on version. Is it safe to say that when your 3 month trial is up that you'll be paying the $100/month to keep it?

The older I get, the more these experiences fascinate me—maybe because, for some strange reason, I keep catching myself driving faster than I really need to. Guess that’s why I need FSD—to keep me in check! 😄

so v14 is definitely ‘different’. you can’t manually set your own speed limit with the steering wheel roller like with v13. however, the profiles definitely seem to be more one building on another with reasonable speeds. now you have ‘sloth’ (which i only used for a short period one time by accident, ha, and yeah, we were going slowly), ‘chill’, ‘standard’, ‘hurry’, and ‘mad max’.
so the highway near me is 65mph limit. on ‘standard’ it seems to go about 68-69. on ‘chill’ it seems to go about 65, on ‘hurry’ it went low 70s and on mad max it went close to 80

great story… i’ve asked my 92 year old neighbor (who still drives well by the way!) if he wants to ride along and he hasn’t taken me up on it, but we will soon i’m sure.

already signed up to continue at end of 3 months in december.
some more feedback on v14. as i mentioned on one trip it didn’t successfully drive into my garage it did try but was off angle (v13 wouldn’t even attempt). today i did same and it lined up much better but stopped right outside the garage. you can set what to do at destination (stop curbside, park, etc). anyway, i just pulled in manually after that (oh the indignity lol).
i did have one ‘incident’ today where a guy with a weed trimmer was doing the grass right at the end of the road and it looked like he was going to walk into road. the car stopped and wouldn’t move. it might have moved eventually but i had a car behind me honking so i took over.
i’ve noticed at highway speeds the lane centering wavers a small amount left to right. no biggie, but my ioniq 5 is more accurate.
i wanted to try the ‘tron mode’ display in the toy box but i don’t have it. apparently tesla split the build so those without fsd subscription get the build with tron mode and map buildins but no v14 fsd, and vice versa. apparently at 14.2 they’ll merge the two builds.

What is your sense of v14, The One or will take another version and new hardware before Tesla rolls out autonomy in most major cities.
the weed trimmer guy example i gave above it one case where it was unclear how long the tesla would have held up traffic. i wonder if you had two or more teslas ‘stuck’ at an intersection or something, in a ‘deadly embrace’ condition where neither moves.

v14 is super cautious around people from what I've seen to a fault. This is a tough one because people tend to think they don't have to yield to cars no matter where they are FSD seems to realize this. Waymo's have the no one will move tango thing when they gather to charge Tesla will probably have the same challenge when Cybercab goes wide.
I sorta like how traffic is in Mexico you cross the street with a purpose no one is stopping for you.
just got fsd 14.2. it’s better (tested on about 80-100 mi. of ‘driving’ today). less instances of hesitation (actually i had none).
when an emergency vehicle is coming toward the car, it slows and pulls over onto the shoulder like you’re supposed to.
loads of other changes including buildings on maps now like other map apps.
remembers your parking preference (curbside, parking spot, etc.) for each nav location if you specify.
