Here are some rough numbers keep in mind temps were -30 as a high and night -37-ish. My Camry dropped from 27mpg to 16mpg there is no way around it a gas engine sucks back gas in very cold weather. Tesla range dropped 35% except 1 day where the cabin was pre-heated several times in that case range dropped by 50%.
Heat in my Camry is excellent much better than V6 Toyota/Lexus*. Heat in the Tesla is fine, better than I was expecting. I'd like it to warm the car faster, for whatever reason I expect it to be instant lol.
* heat in my Highlander Hybrid is just okay on very cold days it can't keep up. Not that you freeze but you can't roast yourself.

That sucks. My theory is in hard times people fall back to what they know, which means gas cars. Probably not a popular opinion but Polestar as a brand should not exist they should be Volvo's. This is like Scion was to Toyota IMO nothing at all wrong with the cars but the brand differentiation ultimately hurts. How many people know what a Polestar is? Everyone knows Volvo and respects them. Polestar has to establish a customer base from scratch.
wow that's really bad. i agree lex that polestar should have been volvo brand, but i assume they wanted financial separation with all the risk around ev's (didn't want to risk having polestar sink volvo as well).
what is polestar's 'usp' (unique selling proposition)?

And I never understood why Volvo then started making their own EVs after Polestar was created.

Not only that, but they came out with the Exact same EV's, just with a Volvo logo and a different name. Slightly different lights, slightly different infotaiment look, but essentially same cars. Supposably the Polestar 3 was going to be their break out SUV, but here we have the Volvo EX90 Lol

They were supposed to be an EV spinout from Volvo, concentrating on performance. As you probably already know, Polestar started out as a performance division for Volvo, kind of like M for BMW and AMG for Mercedes
EV only brand, plus some don't associate Volvo with performance and might assume a Volvo branded EV will be safety first, not performance oriented. Polestar was originally a Volvo-centric performance tuner (and was acquired by Volvo) so the brand has that association.
