This is a significant development. The influence of the US auto industry is falling behind. For China to do this and not the DOT or whatever they are called, the foreign automakers will likely follow what the standard is from China

 

S/X are canceled anyway, so won’t affect tesla.

Yes 3 and Y are affected, its the electronic release from the interior.

 

Both Model 3 and Y have manual releases for emergencies. I have to tell people who aren't familiar with Tesla's not to use the emergency release as that's the first thing they go for when opening the doors

 

Clarity on this, the Model 3 and Y exterior door handles are not compliant

I don't have an issue with the doors on the MY and M3, my "glee" comes from the awful pop out door handles on my own car!

 

fwiw, i don't like the door handles on either my tesla y or ioniq 5.

I forgot, were the door handles pop up on the Ioniq 5? I don't particularly like the door handles on my 3 or Y either, Tesla went lazy there

 

the ioniq 5 door handles are motorized and pop out on one end (at an angle) when the car unlocks.

 

OK, I remember. I thought it was cool, it popped out when it detected the fob

 

yes, but when i come home into my garage and go inside... i then get a notification and text, about every 10 minutes, until i lock the %$#^&ing car. why can't it just lock the car like tesla!
