You are welcome. The only criticism I have is you didn't give it a proper GO with your right foot . Anyway with the power and torque the Lightning gives you, you probably would have just rolled your eyes 🤣

This is true. My dad is in the cult. My coworkers on my immediate team use Macs and give me good natured ribbing for using a PC.

For Tesla, their cult does seem to get more people interested and less resistant to EVs, which I see as a plus. When either cult goes off the deep end, it is just annoying.

Here's my Apple story. I went with a friend to the Apple store in Palo Alto, he wanted to buy a Mac. My friend asked the Apple employee if he also needs to buy antivirus software, and the employee told him that Macs don't get viruses, so he doesn't need to buy any. He went on to say they never crash, and some other stuff that got my blood boiling, as I've been in IT more than 30 years, and there is no software that exists that doesn't have vulnerabilities. I then interjected and asked him "Does the BS you just said come with it, or is that extra?" My friend began to laugh, and the Apple employee just looked at me with deer in the headlights look as what I said just sailed over his head...

I've yet to personally meet a Tesla owner who thinks their car is perfect. We are actually very critical of our cars, when they have flaws, we are not afraid to disclose them and be critical when criticism is warranted

I am member of 2 local Tesla clubs, with several hundred members for last 3 years. There are hundreds if not thousands of messages echanged in our Telegram group every day. Honestly, there is more cult following at my Toyota club than Tesla. Tesla owners are very realistic, complain about everything and are willing to try other brands.

I believe what you are seeing is not Tesla aficionados, but Tesla stock owners who are hopping to make a buck on TSLA stock or maybe secure their pension. That was brilliant move by Elon long time ago. They fight hard for every single thing that Elon or Tesla does, and bring down every other EV maker. Obviously because of the stock.

Exactly. Most Tesla owners are very critical of flaws, and are very vocal about them. We are nothing like Apple sheep, who are convinced that Apple products are flawless, and "It just works" has become a nauseating talking point I've had to listen to for years

I don't know about in person but online it's the complete opposite. I have no idea how you guys don't see that. I can give you one example here:
https://i.imgur.com/ODXK7j0.png
this person posted how the model 3 interior looks so much better than a rolls royce and in the comments someone said that it may look better but the rolls royce is more comfortable. His reply was maybe in the backseat but the model 3 is very comfortable in the front seat. Another comment mention no wine fridge, he recommend getting one on Alibaba. I have seem the craziest of takes it's completely ridiculous.

Obviously, you don't take those people seriously. I've never met a Tesla owner in person that would say such ridiculous stuff. You find all kinds of crazy online. I can show you plenty of crazy on the Polestar as well as the Civicx forums. I'll share them with you at some point

Not to sidetrack but Apple stuff isn't built as well as it used to be anyway. I had a MacBook Pro from 2010 that was better than this 2022. I had to replace this one already from just a teensy amount of liquid damage.. The old one was just a tank, beaten to DEATHHHHHHHHH. Dropped, flung, dented, watered, you name it.

I'm still a fan, it's still a good laptop but yes.. The older one was better, of course. And it actually had these things called USB ports!! And even a DVD player, which was great for flights.

I'm sure Windows stuff is great now but I do like how all my stuff from my phone etc gets right through the computer.

I can't say I've seen somebody compare their civic to a super car / ultra expensive car lol. They might say oh they can modify it to make it faster than a Ferrari which is true. But not something like their interior is more comfy than a Bentley lol

you say everything was better in the 'good old days'

The old one was just a tank, beaten to DEATHHHHHHHHH. Dropped, flung, dented, watered, you name it.
because dropping, flinging etc. are expected from users.

mac laptops still have solid metal cases. the screens might be slightly more fragile in order to save weight and bulk. but the performance, features, battery life, etc. is many times faster than your 2010 relic. my macbook pro is so fast and efficient that despite all i do on it at once the fans never run. can't say that about the 2017 intel macbook pro i had.

new ones still have usb (c) ports and if you want extras c or a type, just get a cheap hub.
as for a dvd player, lol. i download movies/shows to my ipad before the flight... problem solved.

I'm sure Windows stuff is great now but I do like how all my stuff from my phone etc gets right through the computer.
exactly, i recently switched from android to iphone and it's so nice having photos i take just be available right away on mac and ipad.

my company buys and installs many models/brands of windows laptop. there's always major trade-offs of battery life, weight, cost, performance, fan noise, etc. of course mac laptops have trade-offs too and maybe part of their battery life advantage is they don't have touch screens, but definitely their 'apple silicon' processors are a big factor.

windows is a bit like a chevy camaro... lots of flash and old school power but no class, lol.
