Can you do me a big favor? Can you look up the area of I-81 and I-64 between Front Royal, VA and Beckley, WV? I'm curious how many of those superchargers would be available once BMW has access.
Beckley is off to the lower left with a little yellow marker under it. Closest chargers that are available are in Princeton, WV / Lewisburg, WV. Overall looks pretty robust as you'd expect from Tesla

Not sure if you've seen this before, but you can look up the Tesla SC locations here - just put in the area you're curious about

Things are not looking good for Fisker.

EV Maker Fisker Stops Production, Warns It May Need to Seek Bankruptcy

Fisker Inc. is pausing production for the next six weeks as the electric-vehicle maker looks to rein in inventory and avoid possibly having to file for bankruptcy.

The company didn’t make a required interest payment of about $8.4 million last week on its unsecured convertible notes due in 2026, according to a regulatory filing Monday. Fisker warned it may not be able to meet obligations to service its debt and “could need to seek protection under applicable bankruptcy laws.”

Fisker shares fell as much as 14% shortly after the start of regular trading. The stock had plummeted 90% this year through last week’s close.

Fisker also said Monday that it plans to raise as much as $150 million through a financing deal with the holder of its 2025-dated convertible notes. The Los Angeles-based EV maker didn’t identify the existing investor and said the funding will be organized in four tranches and subject to certain conditions.

The disclosures expound on the dire state of Fisker, which warned late last month that there was substantial doubt about its ability to stay in business. The company has said it will cut 15% of its workforce after struggling with production issues, software glitches and short-seller criticism.

Fisker said it remains in negotiations with an unidentified large automaker about a potential investment and joint development partnership. Bloomberg reported earlier this month that the company was in talks with Japan’s Nissan Motor Co., citing people familiar with the matter.

In its statement, Fisker said it has about 4,700 vehicles in inventory worth more than $200 million. It’s pausing production in Graz, Austria, starting this week to sell down its supply of already-built EVs.

https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/03...q6-e-tron-suv/

Next gen of Audi EVs on the way starting with the Q6

The Q6 e-tron quattro has 422 hp (315 kW) but can be overboosted in launch control to 456 hp (340 kW), which should allow it to reach 60 mph from a toll booth in 5 seconds. Audi has yet to complete the EPA efficiency estimate process but says it should be over 300 miles (482 km).

There's also an SQ6 e-tron, which is all-wheel-drive as well. This one has 483 hp (360 kW), with up to 510 hp (380 kW) boosts that shave 0.7 seconds off that 0–60 time. A range estimate for the SQ6 should be available later this year, along with the all-important pricing. And it seems Audi is yet another automaker that now doesn't provide a combined torque output for its new EVs, so we can't tell you how torquey either variant will be. In the future, the North American market should get a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor Q6, and Audi all but confirmed an RS version in time, but don't hold out hopes for the smaller battery pack, we're told.
A lot more details on the platform and interior at the link

I've never seen a Fisker in the flesh, ever.

It's Rivian I'm worried about not making it. Those are super sick.

This is huge, thank you. The Superchargers in Beckley and Mount Hope aren't going to ve V3 or 4, thats a bummer, but having that option in Lewisburg is HUGE because thats the only option on 64. Then you have multiple options on 81 in addition to the EA and EVgo options. This is a game changer for this trip

Rivian (and I'm assuming Ford) app filters out level 2 and urban SC chargers so it only shows compatible chargers. You could also look at max charge speed and assume anything under 250 is a v2, but this way there are no questions

it's sad if fisker fails. tons of people put a huge effort, money, and time to make it happen. the ocean looks like a decent product, but with a few rough edges, which isn't surprising.
