another reason robotically created food and drinks can't come soon enough.
Robotic delivery is key. Otherwise, FSD supervisor/delivery person knowing there will be no tip at your address has unfettered access to your food during transport. No thanks. Of course an AI robot would know this too. So... let your imagination run. Maybe just best to tip.

i ain't tipping no damn robot, lol. and i don't see a need for any 'fsd supervisor / delivery person' soon. amazon warehouses have few humans these days. do you tip the amazon driver?
and for doordash, uber eats, etc., a lot of people don't tip, because it's usually built in i think.

Not interested in that from a machine, at least not all the time.
If you’ve been in a cruise you might have had drinks made by a robot, I have. Not great.
whatever isn't great by robot today won't stay that way for much longer.
no doubt many will resist at first. i imagine a starbucks with 2 people in it soon... one for drive through and one at the counter just to be 'faces' because just making the store a big robot will turn people off, even if all the coffee, drinks, food are made (more consistently and much more quickly) by machines/robots. i bet starbucks could triple their sales volume. i've no doubt tons of people don't go when they see the long drivethrough line of cars.
Since you asked... It's been a long time since I've seen an Amazon truck around here. However, UPS, FedEx and the garbage guys all get an X-mas envelope. The mail guy used to get an envelope but now there's a conga line of independents so it wouldn't make any difference. There's an online site for the neighborhood to share bs. The wife tells me there's always people bitching about the aforementioned services. She doesn't understand why because we don't suffer similar issues.

correlation doesn't equal causation. I don't imagine you have the same FedEx or ups drivers every day either. Also, I talked to a FedEx driver around here and although he wears the clothes and drives a FedEx truck he doesn't work for FedEx.

You clearly don't enjoy gourmet food then.

Starbucks, McDonalds etc robots are fine. But when I go out to a good restaurant for good food, I want it prepared by a chef, not a robot. If I wanted drinks made by a machine I would just drink prepackaged drinks out of cans or bottles.
Not everything is made better by automation. The variability and unique style of someone who knows how to cook and mix drinks is part of what makes those things interesting.

I've had the same FedEx delivery driver here for years. She's employed by the owner of the truck who contracts to FedEx. That the driver isn't an employee of FedEx is irrelevant to the discussion regarding tips. It's the driver I'm rewarding and expressing thanks.
If FSD ever becomes FSD you could dispatch your car to pick up the pizza, bring it home and park in the garage... save yourself the tip.

Same, we have the same drivers here and at my offices, same mailpeople too. We always tip them for the holidays. Not necessary but its just a nice thing to do and I value the service they provide, it helps that they give us extra care too. Getting my hair cut this week, won't see him again until after the holidays, I'll have a $100 bill for him for the holidays.
I don't think this thread could go any further off the rails.
I had no idea that this was a thing in CA. How do you EV owners that live there feel about this?
I've never used the program (never had to) but people that drive long distances are not happy. This also effects hybrid owners who can no longer use the carpool lane. You had to apply for it and the cost was around $27 for the sticker
