it's YOU that brought up "updating the app". when i was having no luck with some attempts to use the watch as a key i read online that RESTARTING the APP (not updating or restarting the watch) might work, and it did.

but keep trying to grab some negative that isn't there.

so venturing out with just the watch is not real world ready.
you continue to make things up. the car can be operated without a phone or a watch if you have the Tesla credit card key, which i have, in my phone wallet or would have even if i didn't have my phone/wallet, as a backup.

sounds like modern cars are not for you.

Then it’s not real world ready if one ventures out with just the Apple Watch. Probably best to keep the back up card.

So by your logic, you shouldn't venture out unless you carry two fobs?

It looks like a good deal to have a couple of ways to do it.

I'd pick the phone and credit card key, only because I won't give up my Timex, yet.

Watch & phone combo really does sounds cool though.

Kind of a dumb question, can EVs such as Teslas be stolen? Example thieves have been successful on cloning key fobs on gas vehicles in matter of minutes.

If you leave your phone in the car, or they get ahold of your key card. Other than that, I've never heard of a Tesla being stolen. But it's easy to track so it will be found quickly. Basically if you have a mistress, don't go see her if you have a Tesla 🙂

Model 3 is the least stolen car or right up there. Sure some get stolen but the only value is parts the car will be black listed no updates, no charging at any Tesla charger.

haha yea, bad car for your side squeeze.

Just curious, why do you keep the key card in your wallet? I have never used it because the phone is so reliable and I feel like I leave my wallet at home more than my phone. Maybe just in case you lose one or the other when you are out?

Maybe I should keep the card in my wallet, I’ve just never thought about it.

If your phone dies, gets stolen, you drop it into a storm drain....

I’ve never been concerned about my Tesla being stolen ever for those reasons so it’s really not a desirable car for thieves.

For my other daily driver cars I couldn’t care less as long as I never got the car back so I could get a new one. My GTR is the one I am most worried about because those were starting to get stolen a couple years ago.

Damn I never really had an issue with a dead phone but now that you mention it potentially being stolen I’ll probably put the card in my wallet, just never really thought of that. As for the storm drain, sounds like that happened to you?
