Since 2023 I've been using only my phone to drive both our Tesla's with zero issues except the occasional restarting BT, which takes literally 3 seconds. I can't wait until they add support for Android watches... although I still need my phone for other things, like posting here on CL
More reason to make the switch to 🍎📱⌚️
I know you won’t. You will buy a hybrid before that happens😆
There is no way one can update an app without data or wifi
…restarting the app is different than updating an app.
it's YOU that brought up "updating the app". when i was having no luck with some attempts to use the watch as a key i read online that RESTARTING the APP (not updating or restarting the watch) might work, and it did.
but keep trying to grab some negative that isn't there.
so venturing out with just the watch is not real world ready.
you continue to make things up. the car can be operated without a phone or a watch if you have the Tesla credit card key, which i have, in my phone wallet or would have even if i didn't have my phone/wallet, as a backup.

Then it’s not real world ready if one ventures out with just the Apple Watch. Probably best to keep the back up card.

Kind of a dumb question, can EVs such as Teslas be stolen? Example thieves have been successful on cloning key fobs on gas vehicles in matter of minutes.

If you leave your phone in the car, or they get ahold of your key card. Other than that, I've never heard of a Tesla being stolen. But it's easy to track so it will be found quickly. Basically if you have a mistress, don't go see her if you have a Tesla 🙂

Model 3 is the least stolen car or right up there. Sure some get stolen but the only value is parts the car will be black listed no updates, no charging at any Tesla charger.

sounds like modern cars are not for you.
Just curious, why do you keep the key card in your wallet? I have never used it because the phone is so reliable and I feel like I leave my wallet at home more than my phone. Maybe just in case you lose one or the other when you are out?
Maybe I should keep the card in my wallet, I’ve just never thought about it.
