@AMIRZA786 i was about to just put this in your thread but it got locked while i was typing it but anyway this is my view on EV vs ICE:
the most relatable industry comparison i can make is quartz vs mechanical watches... my casio keeps time WAY better than my speedmaster, yet i don't feel the casio could ever replace one of my mechanical watches because there's an artistry and craftsmanship that you only get from a high end mechanical watch
i feel ICE cars are going the same way, in the same manner that anyone who actually only wants to tell the time will just look at their phone or their apple watch, EV cars are absolutely the superior choice for just going somewhere... but there's certain sensations and experiences they just don't offer (engine sound is a huge one for me) so i'd personally need to have both, an EV for my errands and the ICE when i want to drive for no reason

I still love ICE cars, and I still love mechanical watches, but my watch is now a OnePlus, which is way more useful than a mechanical watch
It not only keeps time, but monitors my health, exercise, gives me reminders, I can make and receive calls from it, and it will detect if I fall, and hundreds of more features over a mechanical watch. In other words, as much as I love a mechanical watch, this is more useful to me
The watch analogy works at the very top end of the ICE industry for sure. Brand, heritage, design, noise, exclusivity all factor in and all justify the expense. Seeing as you bring up your speedmaster I’ve been shocked, in a good way, how accurate my seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph has been. It keeps absolutely incredible time. Those coaxial movements are very good indeed.

oh the speedy keeps great time! i was actually trying to make the point that even a watch that keeps time as well as a speedmaster is still very inaccurate compared to the most basic of battery powered watches
i realize i used the a lange & sohne for the picture (i wanted to use the clearest example lol) and that's like the complete end of the scale for lavishness but even something like my modest seiko SARB still has a nice quaint charm... idk but i feel shiny-ness will never be out of style haha
btw when the moment is right my next move for a watch is gonna be a grand seiko spring drive, but has to be the spring drive!

Love the mechanical watch car analogies. I came close to getting a M3P instead of my IS500 last year but I wanted the sound and feel of an ICE NA V8 powertrain before they’re gone. They’re also now selling more for MSRP for low mileage variants so the i3 has me somewhat EVcurious. Despite the significant upgrades to the Highland, I still can’t get over the build quality/rattling, road noise, and ride quality which still isn’t as good as Lexus.
Love my Coaxial watches. My Aqua Terra 8900 gains about 5 sec per month which is really good for a mechanical watch. My 17 year old PO which has never been serviced is now about +1 min per month which is great for an old watch that’s overdue for some TLC.
We had a dinner party last night in our backyard, so we removed the cars, it ended late. Short version, we stacked tables and chairs at the side of the backyard gate, and I had to go more to the left right to get our Model Y into the yard, ignored the parking assistant and scraped the side of the gate . Another angle:
Thankfully, it's wife's car 🤣
