Yes, it is untrue...swajames has told you that repeatedly. Ford is scaling back their PROJECTIONS for production of the Lightning...
Lets put it this way, this time of year those of us in business plan goals for next year. If I say I want to grow my business by 50% next year, and then I find I only grew it by 20%...has my business SHRUNK? No...its grown by 20%. Projections are just that, a guess.
You WANT them to be wrong, thats why you see failure everywhere
You WANT them to be right. How is Ford not spending 12BB and delaying (cancelling) a whole battery plant apparently nothing as you purport? That may not be total failure but it's not success lol.
Let's see where we are a year from now, with everything. If I'm wrong you guys can call me out to your heart's content...

No, I look at the numbers and draw my own conclusions. I don't own an EV, I have no dog in this fight. I just don't irrationally hate EVs.
Lets put it this way, nowhere in this exchange have you shown any curiosity as to the actual numbers...that shows me you're not interested in data that doesn't fit your narrative. All you have to do is google for sales figures of any model...but you haven't done that. All the data we offer you fail to respond to other than with another gaslighting post purporting a decline in sales has occurred as if we had not just proven that was untrue.
Ford delaying their battery plant shows that they feel they have overshot their projected demand for EVs in the near term and that its outside of their cashflow position at the current time. it does NOT mean that EV sales are falling, they are not falling. That data is out there for us to look at.

I don't recall saying EV sales are falling, and if I said that I was wrong and didn't mean it.
Can we curb this... I'll be happy to pick this up next Christmas.
If we can't agree that Ford canceling all of this is not scaling back on a pretty big scale, this argument is going no where.
That's why I'd rather wait until next year and see what's up then.
You again are moving the goalposts to pretend this is an argument about something you think you can win.
Nobody is saying that Ford is not scaling back their projections for EV sales in the near term. What they are NOT doing is cutting current production, as you have claimed they are doing. EV sales are not falling, as you have claimed they are. EV sales are growing, which you have claimed they are not.

My argument has been the same this whole time.
There's no winning or losing on here.
How is cutting production by half not cutting production? And I don't recall saying EVs sales are falling. I just said if I did I didn't mean it that way, slip of the tongue.

If you only consider a small slice of time then sure call it a failure. 10 years ago EVs were a total joke nearly every expert said they would never be successful. A certain short seller lost billions betting EVs would fail do you think he should make that bet again?

Well it comes across that way, you are extremely negative about them. It doesn't bother me just an observation.
EVs will win because they are better cars and are improving quickly. Battery costs since 2010 have dropped 10x if not more have gas engines dropped in cost 10x?
They aren't cutting production, thats how. They are reducing the amount they planned on increasing production to.
........ because way less people want them than they thought. If they were building 3200 a month but are going to 1600, that's cutting production. They'll cut it again, watch.

OMFG! Seriously.
For the 10th time. They are not building 3200 a week! They were GOING to be building 3200 a week. They are currently building LESS than 1,600 per week. 1,600 per week is still an increase in production from what they are producing now.
