Toyota put all their beans into hydrogen they spent billions.
I think long term this is a horrible strategy. Even if Tesla fails to sell a $25,000 Corolla competitor the Chinese will.
I agree, long term it's not a good strategy, but what else can they do? Give us another bz4x? They put themselves in the position, they have to live with it
I appreciate your concern but my life is not out of control. Based on basically every metric the demand has softened considerably for EVs. Everyone is backtracking. That's just a fact. I didn't say they were going anywhere because they're not.
You are correct. Demand softening and sales declining are two different things. EV sales can still be increasing while demand softens. Lowering prices and cutting back on previously stated production goals are absolutely a sign of a softening demand.
It would really suck to buy something and then see it way cheaper a year or two later.
I @SW17LS may go drive an i7 but I want to experience both EV and ICE versions. I don’t want a saleman bugging me though. I know how a V8 S Class feels so I’m in the ballpark.

Absolutely a sales person is going to bug you. You have to make your intentions extremely clear, like I did when I test drove one.
Glad you are giving it a consideration for a test drive. I absolutely loved the way it drove, but I'll leave you to make your own decision
Please don’t infer I’m stupid enough to be affected by the media.
Self awareness is important. If the media and the government are making you not want to buy something or are making you angry, they are affecting you just the same as if they were making you want to buy something. Just have an open mind and practice ambivalence. If you "hate" something...you aren't ambivalent to it.

Drive them both. Salespeople will bug you, thats just the way it is. I drove them back to back and the V8 760 is great but I prefer the i7.
BTW one of the long time S Class owners on MBWorld, used to drive the LS and has had 4 S Classes since just ordered an i7. He got an S580 and hated it, had MB buy it back and bought a low mileage S560 to drive until he decided what to get.
Why did RZ sales tank in January? Literally 1/3 of November and December. And I don't think it is a supply issue, because there are a bunch in stock at my local dealer.

But I still believe had they built on their partnership with Tesla on continued on the BEV path, it would have paid off and BEV's would be profitable for them today.
i agree they should have kept some kind of relationship with Tesla, and certainly shouldn't have sold all that stock, bwahaha
But you are right, they are a big company, and it's hard to steer a giant ship. Tesla being a speedboat can easier do this
tesla's more like a chimpanzee... all over the place quickly and very unpredictably.
