While I draw inspiration from this thread I am wiped out at the end of the day and weekends are

What's holding the engine ???

Are the bottom collectors slip fit or welded on your version?

I don’t have a very tiring job so I have some motivation and energy when I get home

I put rubber blocks in between the stabilizer bar and the front cover/oil pan. And when I’m not working under the car, I put a block of wood just in front of the lower pan and support it with a floor jack.
The collectors are slip fit.

 

Good stuff...!! The dealership uses these special SST tool / brackets for underside support via the engine mounts while on the lift..






Circa March 2016 when I had both OEM manifolds replaced under extended warranty.

Did you get to see how the held the engine up to install the SSTs?

I'm not about to buy the SSTs for the top or the bottom, but I can see how they'd be pretty helpful if you are a Lexus tech.

 

I wasn't there that day, but maybe one at a time while lowering subframe?? Along with the trans stand..

Makes jobs that require subframe removal way easier.

I never understood how they don't leak???

I get that it makes the installation much easier, but how do they seal 100% at the collectors..

They’d still have to temporarily support the engine via the pan with those long support stands to install the sst’s. I thought about fabbing something like those but the rubber blocks work just fine, I remove the engine mounts and brackets to remove and install the exhaust manifolds/headers anyway.

 

Maybe it’s just how they perfectly fit together. No leaks on my RC-F so far
I used double slip connectors from Burnsstainless when I used to make inline 6 headers and those are leak free. These are just single slip,

Headers are on my bucket list if these OEM manifolds fail again... Or I should say when they do..

For cost and quality, I always seems to eye PPE.

Do you plan on any CATS on the mid pipe for smell control ??? Or will the Icode come with them already ??
