Torquing the pinion nut and setting preload. Made an SST out of an old companion flange. It took well over 300 ft/lbs. to get the new sleeve to crush. Got the preload set right at 13in-lbs.

Went with .08mm thicker snap ring on the ring gear side and .08mm thinner on the other side. Got the backlash to just over .07mm (spec is .08-.13) so I’d call that good. Total preload is also at the middle of the spec range at just over 20in.-lb. (spec is 17-30in.-lb.) and tooth engagement pattern looks good!
I rounded off one of my air hammer bits so I could do a proper stake on the pinion nut.

I'd be happy with that tooth pattern. Looking really good!

Foam seal around the radiator. Decided not to use the foam I ordered through Amazon after hearing some people’s experience with it; it doesn't last more than a year before it starts deteriorating. I ordered some silicone foam from McMaster Carr in late October and recently got a status update; still 9-12 weeks out. Luckily, I found a roll of adhesive backed foam in our scrap bin at work and decided to test it for heat resistance. Nothing happened to it until well over 400F, and even then, it had very little effect on it. So, that’s what I used! I applied it around the core support to provide a good seal around the radiator.

Which of your cars do you like the most, and why?

I'd have to say, it's the IS F. I find it much more agile than the RC F.

Does the RCF have the TVD or mechanical differential?

I test-drove a 2016 RCF hardtop with an Invidia Q300 cat-back exhaust and loved it. The transmission was more responsive in Sport+ than the ISF is in Sport. Blip-tastic fun.

My RCF has TVD. And I agree, the shifts are so much better!

In auto or manual? They have the same trans, right? Is the tune just that much better in the RCF?

I think the 50 extra HP makes up that extra shifting difference as well.. !!

I think his cars probably dyno close to the same. The RCF has much more stock power, but the ISF gains more from mods due to the restrictive oem manifolds. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought in modified form, all the F cars were close to the same numbers.

Both auto and manual, I have RRracing tune on both cars, but the shifts just feels so much better overall on the RC F, especially the 1st-2nd.

It is a bummer we don’t have transmission tunes. The most drastic change in tuning an NA car is the transmission behavior.
