Quick question:
I have a ’14 and want to upgrade my fog lights, on the Diode Dynamics SS3 Max yellow fog lights
Which model did you go with, Stage Series 3" SAE/DOT Type B?
Was it a straightforward install or did you have to modify the housing and plugs?

Thank you for sharing your build, again truly amazing
hi, Thank you! And sorry, haven’t checked my build thread in a bit. I went with these, purchased through Figs Eng’g.

plug and play, but I chose to splice the new harness adapter to my factory wiring. HTH!

It might be the same transmission, but the powertrain controller is programmed to be quicker in the RCF, especially in certain situations. In manual mode, the one I drove was blipping the throttle and re-engaging the lower gear quickly and seamlessly for <2krpm differences even when just coasting to a stop. In the same conditions, my ISF will just slip the shift out longer without much if any of a throttle blip. When the ISF 's powertrain controller detects urgency, it speeds things up quite a bit. The RCF's casual shift speed in the sportiest mode was the biggest difference I noticed.

Finally got around to install the pole positions! A little bit of wiring and everything works on both sides. Had to modify an RC F Bride rail so the passenger seat clears the b pillar

Looks good. Your bride mount will weigh less than mine. Did the Figs mounts fall through?

Thanks! Yes, I like how minimal the Bride base is. FIGS aren't done yet

Painted the rear exhaust brackets, and replaced the bolts with titanium, as usual.

Moved the belt latch from the seat base to the side mount, so it moves with the seat. Also reshaped the metal for easier latching and unlatching of the belt.

That is clever. It’s massively annoying when its bolted to the planted mount. The Recaro ISF specific rails have it mounted to the slider
so that it moves with the seat as well.

Thanks! I thought about welding a tab on the slider but I figured this was a quicker way. Did you get your Recaro sliders?

I did. I like them, but haven’t installed them. I took a car build sabbatical to remodel my house and now I’m a couple months out from spinal surgery, so they are on the back burner. My preliminary measurements indicate they aren’t any lighter than my current seat set-up, but I plan to use them anyway because they are nicer, the buckle slides with the seats, and it removes a lot of the decline in the floor.

Unless I find a decent deal on some leather recaros for my daily… then they will go in that since there isn’t really a weight savings.

Im hoping that FIGs design is going to be simpler and lighter.

I see. Same with the Bride, it’s a little more level than the Sparco or Planted so your weight doesn’t automatically slide you back when you pull that lever up. I think the FIGS have wider base material on the front and rear but he’s using slightly thinnerl material. So, they could end up the same.
Hoping for your speedy recovery!

Thanks!

What do you think of your new gearset? I’m going to build a locking diff for my daily this year, as I’m tired of the one wheel wonder. After I learn on it, I’m tempted to build one for the ISF. I’m considering the 3.3 gearset. The 3.7 seems a bit aggressive to me. I wouldn’t mind the quicker 0-60, but I don’t want to be rowing through the gears that often.

What are your thoughts on the 3.3x gears?

I have not installed the 3.13 diff yet. But I will probably get to in the next month or two. I originally wanted 3.2 but I figured I’d try the 3.13 first. Plan is to re gear the original diff with 3.2 or 3.3 once I try the 3.13 I agree, I think 3.7 would be way too much, for me at least, about 40% of my drive is freeway driving and I like the low rpm highway speeds

I foresee the 3.3 as the happy medium. It’s a noticeable enough jump that it will effect the 0-60, which is really where we suffer, but not so much of a jump that it will harshly effect interstate travel. I also spend about half my time on the interstate. I’m wildly excited to have a torsen in my daily is350. After I develop the skill on that, no reason not to do it again on the ISF.
