Why does the floating roof look much better in the '23? Is it the broader flaring chrome/silver trim? And/or how it wraps around a little bit to the rear?
Looks pretty much the same to me.
The 5th Gen chrome strip on the floating roof is well integrated, whereas in the 4th G, the chrome looks like an afterthought add-on. /shrug
Does anyone know when dealers will be taking orders for the 5th gen 350h or 450h+, or are they already doing that?
For the 350h, yes, pre-orders were already open a few weeks back. At least up here in Canada. The 450h+ is still up in the air and they are not taking pre-orders yet.

yeah but are you in a huge rush to get rid of your 2020 one?
if not just wait it out a bit and let them settle the issues first. I drove that new NX, the infotainment (same as the soon to be here 5th gen RX) is a turd.
- Due to it being a touch screen, they had to push this giant piano black slab right into the drivers face. With that, there was some odd placements of buttons and switches - Start engine button is now all the way to the top of the console. Why its up there, i havent a clue - The rotary volume *** is so small and cheap feeling that you dont even want to touch it. Plus due to its placement, you'll likely hit 3-4 other touch screen climate items before you are succesful in rotating the volume ***. In the NX's case, its right next to where the fan speed controller is. - The menus are dull and uninspired looking while accessing the user interface. You cant even have a nav / radio split like our old interfaces. Only 1 screen at at time - the sport mode selector is literally where the volume *** should be. Its also the size of what the normal volume *** should be.
Either way, i dont like it. Ill take my dumb joystick over this ugly mess. Without apple carplay, or android auto, this new internal lexus user interface is garbage. ohh and dont get me started on these "multi functional" steering wheel buttons. They are slow and unresponsive. Try pressing next track will often require 2 presses before it responds. But sometimes its only 1 press. Plus you cant see what multi function your selecting unless you look into the HUD. Dont like the HUD? too bad, a lot of vital functions are now only HUD controlled.
this stupid interface is worse than iDrive version 1.0.
Yikes. That looks like a disaster. And a crime scene. Didn't think they could do worse than what they already had, but they may have surprised me. Wait. Who am I kidding? No surprise at all.
literally can feel the cost cutting in this new user interface and dash configuration (im talking about the latest NX, but im sure its 90% the same in this new RX according to the photos).
Have a friend that has a 2008 ES and a 2018 RX. The ES with 300,000 miles just died. He is interested in the 2023 RX. Has anyone heard when they will be available? A salesmen at our local Lexus dealership is saying October or November. That sounds way to early,
Thanks!!

No official release date yet but those dates sound about typical. I bought my ES and RX both in November of different years because that was when the new models had recently been released and some great deals could be had. We will know for sure next month.

The new RX is a 4 Cylinder Turbo engine. I believe it will be way too noisy of a car to have when compared to the ES.
In that case it will be a native v4. The torque is less. I absolutely didn't like the 2022 RX engine which is a v6.
Its extremely weak when compared to my Audi q5 45 TFSI 2016
Hopefully, somebody here will purchase a 2023 RX and let us know here their take on the turbo. A short test drive won't be enough unless it's really that unacceptable.
When I test drove the NX wasn't crazy by the size, but hated the turbo on the brief highway drive.
