This review is an outlier - these guys want a German car, so let them go buy one. I had three 5 series in a row - the seats are horrible, even with the optional comfort seats, I had to use a memory foam cushion just to drive it.
The only useful comment in that video is that they suggest getting the hybrid over the gas-only turbo. I will have to test drive them both to see if what they say about the turbo engine audible drone at 60mph is true.

That’s what Toyota does best. This is the exact segment or type of car that Toyota succeeds at building and doing it well. It’s average to a above average car…the powertrain options are unmatched. So is the reliability. Resale. Usability. Dealer network. And availability. It’s definitely not something I care for…but it is what they do best.
As a current owner of a 2020 RX350, this seems like an interesting upgrade. The big drawback for me personally is the amount of interior shiny black plastic that wasn't there on the model we own right now. The 4 cylinder seems like another issue, but for me it would be related to the sound, as the current V6 isn't exactly fast, but it does sound good when I rev it.

If it's anything like the T4 in the GS it's not as smooth/connected/seamless as the 2GR was. I've not tried this one but I have used the older turbo 4 they offered
Of course a V6 is . But gas prices will remain high and will continue to increase. Toyota has timed this perfectly. This new Lexus RX is the perfect vehicle for middle class America

According to the review, its not stellar on gas efficiency, tho better than 3.5 in our car.
the key take away for me is that the inline 4 turbo is harsh (as expected) and no amount of insolation/isolation is adequate to make up for its harsh, unrefined characteristics. plug in RX might be the only way to go here as to minimize the amount of interactions you get with that lousy little 4 banger.
savage geese also stated there is almost nothing here for us 4th generation RX owners to justify buying a 5th gen unless you want a little bit more quietness. I completely agree with this statement. The user interface on this new piano black mess of a dashboard is garbage (i used it in the rental NX last time and was sorely disappointed) and those "controllers" on the steering wheel to access the HUD is just annoying (same as on the NX).
I see nothing of significant value here over the 4th gen. Considering how quiet the 4th gen is already, im going to keep our v6 RX till it blows up (probably when i retire in another 30 years).

EPA of the outgoing RX is 22MPG combined. New RX is 24MPG combined. 2023 model weights about 100lbs more as well. And awd is now full-time compared to the 2022 model.

Do you work for Toyota PR?
24mpg isn't great. Stop trying to spin it otherwise.
Well a loaded Highlander Hybrid is $50k+. What was your expectation in terms of pricing?
Yep, exactly. and with markups, they are going towards 60k as well (i visited a Toyota dealer for a highlander 3 months ago). Our '23 mid-level MDX awd was $60k OTD, so the pricing seems in-line with competitors these days.
I don't really care to be honest The 2.4 turbo is nothing special. Neither is the 2.5/I4 hybrid. And that fact that you have to pay more to gain more MPG is a tragedy. But that is the world we all live in.. Toyota could have developed a V6 for the RX and they should have as the current 3.5 V6 is ancient and dates all the way back to the 2005 Avalon..Toyota is not going to do mild hybrid so the fuel economy is not going to be in the German type class.. My other gripes are the lack of standard door sill protection. The speedometer screen is really behind the times. Where this new RX excels at is keeping the weight down, it rides nice, has full time awd , is quiet and it is very well packaged. This will be a massive home run for Lexus. The perfect vehicle of the middle class American. Average to slightly above average.

This is what a modern 6 cylinder from Japan gets you. Not very competitive

No it's not lol. Mark owned an LC500 and loved it and the brand as a whole.

Who in the middle class is buying a 60k car and can't afford to fuel it? If you can't afford the fuel you would not be looking at any new car anyway.
