Sounds like a normal direct injected engine to me.

Unless I am mistaken, the RX350 engine isn't direct injected.

You're probably right. I forgot the transverse V6s never received DI.

I was going to point that out soon too, that the engine sound is pretty darn loud...and sounds like crap on mine as well. I often thought that something maybe wrong as this is Lexus after all...

IT could be that engine is mounted high, there is plenty of space and echo to go through...however I did shop and did carefully look at the Q3 and Q5 and Acura MDX...RX does not sound refined or premium. at least from what I thought.

How close were you to the engine bay? Was the engine cold?

To have an accurate baseline for us to compare to our RXs, take a video of it. If you can't, provide feedback on the above two questions.

No problem with the sound site. Mac user. Good speakers.
The engine should not have clicking noises. Let us know what the mechanics say.

The sound appears to me to be the fuel injectors, though, I am loathe to say that it is not operating proper or to any given tolerance. As we have no information provided as to the age nor mileage on this vehicle, silverar's profile is blank, any statements including my own are merely guesses.

This is one instance where the vehicle needs to be professionally examined by a Lexus trained technician for a proper diagnosis.
