The original brand and savior of those who have lost homes in other brands is a good dedicated thread to have.
I quite like the brand and am hoping the new direction coincides with them continuing to offer the full spectrum of cars. Mainly not backing out/faltering like other brands like Lexus or my favored of the big 3. As it sits right now if would buy something new under $200k it would be a Mercedes as they make the closest to what I like most
besides, mercedes already did a cool minivan once... this definitely won't be replacing the R63 in my book!
The R-Class was actually more of a traditional 3-row station wagon than what would be considered a minivan. There were no sliding side-doors, and one could not move around as freely inside as with a minivan.

you’re right but since mercedes already made an E class wagon to me the R class was “the minivan”... they make the metris too but that’s hardly a mercedes
But really cool idea. That's what car makers don't do anymore, not really. Why make some absurdly powered R Class? Because they can.
that's what i've always loved about mercedes vs other makers, there's clearly some good senses of humor at the c-suite level! like literally who the hell asked for a 6 wheeled g wagen but they made one anyway!
even my E55 feels like some secret project that a few bored engineers developed as a joke, but someone saw the plans and mistakenly approved them for production lol
It looks like a rebadged Dodge minivan with the Benz grill. If this thing sells, not likely since its an EV, maybe Lexus can bring over the LM/Alphard. One can only hope.
