Have you had problems with your Iphones. My contacts come up if I am not moving but are locked out when I start to drive which means you cannot call any of your contacts from the display. Lexus customer service says the Iphone is not as of now compatible.

put some contacts in the Lexus phonebook. you won't even
need to voice tag them. With "natural speech" use:

** Phone Rob mobile
** Phone Rob on his moble
** Phone Rob on his moble please
** Phone, hmm, Rob at Home please

(will test this one in 2hrs)
** Call Rob on his mobile phone

I'm working on a list of statments that work in the root menu, pls

the problem is I have over 100 contacts and many have even more than that in their contact list. The other problem is it also locks out the Dial Pad!! so if you need to call someone who has a extension you cannot even dial it from the car. You can dial out with the speed dials but they only have 18 spaces.

 

my wife bluetoothed in 127 contacts and "natural speech" recognized the 3 we tried.

yup, and it locks out nav addresses too, just like the rx330. but press the "natural speech" button twice and say:

** call to 123-456-1234
** I'd like to place a call to 123-456-1234
** I want to buzz 123-456-1234

and then press the off hook button. (or * dial)

(examples taken from page 53 of nav book, unverified)

So you won't be dialing your phone while you're driving. It is a safety issue dictated by Toyota's lawyers.

You'll be able to dial using the iPhone itself and it'll go through the car, FWIW.

 

yep ,I found that out but it would be much easier (and safer) to use the screen. Oh well you can just dial by contact names also with the voice.

This is the good feature. Many of vehicles cannot switch or have to manually switch it to the car speaker when you dial out from your phone.
