So, when i press the button to lock the doors on the remote... that beep that u usually hear... just stays continuous till i press unlock. the doors never actually lock. i think it could be something to do with my ign lock cylinder. Also as soon as this problem started happening my dome lights and ign lock cyl light dont turn off... like ever. help!!!
after relentless googling i figured it out. for those with a similar problem... mine was at that hatch. I had some body work done and the guy must have reconnected this open sensor. small white plug under trim panel. diconnected it, lock works just doesnt sense when its open and now lights go off. obviously this sensor needs to be replaced but this fixed the problem for the time being.
where is the sensor located exactly? any pics? thanks.

This is part of the safety system and the long beep means ALL doors (including the trunk) are NOT secured. This can happen when a door is partially open or the sensor thinks it is not secure. Your dome light (unless it has been forced turn off) also lights up based on the door ajar signal.
