Default Problems with 97 locks

Hi guys i dont know how many of you have same problem
i have first i dont have my automatic unlockin fob. But the problem when you inside and sitting in driver side and hit the master unlock button the backs unlock but they dont lock back and front doors dont unlock or lock. Im so confused why they dont lock and unlock. I hear them trying to lock and unlock but nothing happens. I thought it could be the swich but i put 2 diff ones in since. Does anybody know what the problem is. I dont know.what the last owner did?

Door lock actuators in that generation LS400 are somewhat prone to failure at some point over the life of the vehicle. They get sticky with age. Will they lock if you hit the button multiple times?

Banshee365 gave you the answer... why cant you understand it???
most all of us have been there.. just swallow your pride and take the door panels off and take a look and you will see, SEE what needs to be done
There is no QUICK FIX MAGIC, but these should get you started...

My suggestion would be to take the panel off and inspect the actuators. As well cleaning and lubricating any necessary linkage in the doors and cleaning electrical contact points. Same with the switches. On these 20 year old cars the lubrication is long gone.

I have fixed many door unlock/lock problems and 80% of them were caused by the badly clogged motor inside by the dust of brushes. Others were completely worn brushes, failed Posistor (too big resistance) and lubrication issues. 80% of them were OK after just cleaning the dust.

Yup common on the LS400, can’t even relearn a new fob cuz mine are weak in the back as well.
