Default Downsize rim - brake clearance?

Hi guys,

I tried searching and didn't see any answers.
I was wondering if it is at all possible to downsize the tires to 15" for winter tires? My initial thought is no, because I don't think it'll clear the brake calipers.

Just wanted to check with people on this.
Also, are the multi-fit steelies from Costco work well with the car?

smallest you can go 16". But you can find 16" steel wheels that fit the vehicle pretty easily and our tire size is pretty inexpensive as well. 16" 02-06 Toyota Camry wheel should fit and it will be hub-centric as well.

Yep, 16" is the smallest size that works. I got a set of steel wheels and Firestone snow tires from tirerack about 5-6 years ago for about $400 mounted/balanced and shipped. The wheels are Highlander takeoffs and were only $30 a piece at the time. I know they had the steel wheels available a few months back, but I don't see them on the site right now. Call "Luke" at tirerack and I'm sure he can tell you when they will have some more. The Firestone tires are excellent too. Awesome in deep snow. I think this will be my 6th winter on them and they still work great.

Yea, I know they don't look that great anymore but the salt eats everything around here. I'll either repaint them or maybe buy some of those chrome skins someday. In the winter I just don't care because they are always covered in slop anyway.
