For everyone who likes to update now, I just got the file.

This is a 1GB+ file so this could be the whole OS update. I have not installed for I just got it and gotta go to work. The upgrade process may take a while since this is a big file.

To update; just go to Settings -> OS Update.(instructions directly from him).

Update on the OS upgrade:

Did the update while driving to work and temperature sync issue is now fixed. Took a good 20 minutes. This upgrade will not erase your settings. I still have the trackpad settings and it auto synced to my phone and resumed on the last song it was playing.


To update;

Download the file.
Format USB to Fat32.
Copy the file to USB.
Insert USB to Android USB/Charge cable.
From the home screen, Tap on Settings ->System Version->OS Upgrade.
Wait for 20+ minutes.
Enjoy the new OS.

 

Awesome going to update later today. I also got email from China today but he/she didn’t send me file said sometime next week.

My car is not RC not sure if I should update your MCU does show RC?

I agree. Don't. In my case I'm still in a returnable period or if the OS upgrade breaks the unit, i'll deal with it. I'm tired of seeing that wrong temperature pop-up.

 

Did you notice backup camera comes on quicker or the same? There is a sec or two lag compared to OEM not sure update improves it.

 

I noticed that lag, too and I can't tell if it was quicker after the upgrade - I honestly didn't timed it out when I was parking this morning. I will confirm later. I didn't notice it this morning but I can live with that as long as it works without hiccups.

I confirmed that the backup camera is now the same speed as the OEM. Very happy with this upgrade!

I have seen another bug but I don't even need to bring this up to the seller. When in dual mode, it's not sync but I can live with this since it's very rare that I have a passenger. It corrects itself as soon as I disabled the dual temp settings. He also said that it's harder for them to troubleshoot and correct the bugs since they got no US version of RC which to me is completely understandable.

 

That’s great news they already knew about the lag, I thought they would only fix the ones we complained about.

Who sent you the file not Lexion right? I got contacted by someone called Reyn but he/she didn’t send me update file vs you got yours same day I might suspect they have different version for IS.

 

I would check with the unit model - I think we use the same interface LEXION A10-LXS. If you can confirm that's matching, then go ahead. I would still proceed with caution. ... Now if it's not compatible, I think the system will give you the notification about incompatibility.

 

I communicate thru WhatsApp using this number - +82 10-9791-3396 (from their site). The URL was provided by him(Lexion). Now I'm not sure if this is the same link the "Tech" gave him (would that matter? NO). So to answer the question who provided the file is;

Lexion provided the link but the "Tech" provided the file. Do we care where it came from, I guess not as long as the problem is fixed.

He specifically mentioned that they have no RC US version (or very rare in their area for that matter) that is why providing the file took some time. I buy it since what matters to me is the fix.

I would take a shot and message him before even attempting to do the upgrade. At least ask him if the file he provided will work on the IS model. I'm sure he will ask the tech and get back to you.

Edit: I just shot him a message regarding your concerns. Hopefully he responds - which car you got? 2006 IS350?

 

Yes, it’s same system. I’m pretty sure IS and RC are the same but different harness. main board and screen are identical. MCU is different though OS update does not include MCU files. I will message him tonight.

 

I updated my OS it went well and only took mine 5 min to install. Lexion said OS file is the same across different models. It fixed graphic issue, temp 1 deg off, CarPlay now connects instantly but need to run a few more to see if it’s consistent. Happy with the bug fixes. File name is 20210909 so I assumed we have latest and greatest.
