That's odd. When you copied it to the drive did you get a notification that something (I can't remember what but I got a notification) was going to be removed from the file before it was copied? (Windows or Mac?)
No, nothing. I tried my Mac and 2 windows laptops.
At this point, hate to ask you but if you can shoot a quick video clip on the process of plugging the usb and going to android settings.
I'd second that. Nobody is saying you don't know what you're doing we just want to verify with those of us that got it to work the first time. Maybe there's some slight difference in what you're doing vs. what we did.
undergrou6's question and where did the "new" update come from? The supplier or you did some sort of over the air update?
I'm also not sure that's really a newer update because if you compare the numbers the original one is .1625 where this one is .1559. All the leading name is just the date is what compiled/saved on from the looks of it. I wonder if it actually is any different or if it's really the same version.......?
I received it from supplier they provided the mega link. There is no OTA update everything is through USB drive.
Ok, I can do that later on, just dropped of the car to get some high-flow cats installed. I really do appreciate your help.
Also, try some alternative media. If you have another USB stick, put some mp3s or video files in it and test if you can read them from the usb1 cable. Only to test if that cable is operational.

So after I did the update Android OS automatically generated a bunch of folders inside USB stick like Music, Videos, etc... if you see these folders which mean it was able to read the stick.

Same with mine. They system used the USB stick as temporary storage to extract the .img file.
Hi guys, although I am not having issues with my unit, I'd like to update the Android OS. I am having the same issue as undergrou6. I have tried 4 different USB sticks and tried both USB ports. I'm tempted to try using an SD card and try the SD card slot. Thoughts?

I tried the SD card route, no luck.
I am wondering if yo need to be on a certain OS version for this upgrade to work? For those that have successfully installed, did you note your current version before the upgrade?

My card is seen by the head unit. If I open file explorer I can see the USB stick mounted, and can see the .img upgrade file in the root directory, but the OS upgrade still says it cannot find.
