Edit:
Success!!! Everything works now!! Joystick works both Lexus and Android. Backup camera works, had to change setting in advanced menu and Front camera works with beatsonic switch. This thing is so much better to use everything was fast. I even like how when I press radio button it goes to oem radio right away and I press Media button it goes back to CarPlay. Selecting input to AV basically switch the screen back to Android/CarPlay. There are lots of settings I need to mess around. Overall very happy. Man, I thought I was going to have to return this thing. Joystick works so well in CarPlay too.
So your joystick works on both OEM and Android with no issues?
Maybe having a track pad is different as mine only works in the Android side. Also when I go into the OEM system the buttons on the track pad don’t work either so I can’t get into any menus. Not sure if I should reach out to them and see if I need a different harness.

Yes, works on both systems. So when you go back to Lexus menu track pad doesn’t work but does hard button work like Menu or Home button. On my system once I get out of Android and in Lexus side joystick does not work right away I had to press hard button to wake up the system. My other 4x4 unit is same way. Android OS puts the Lexus side to sleep but you can wake up by pressing any hard buttons on your trackpad.

Yeah on my RC none of the hard buttons work. The home, menu, and back buttons don’t work. I can’t even use the screen to select menus. The only button that works is the media button to switch between menus for media. Clicking on the media buttons a few times gets me back to the Android side. That’s so weird that I can’t get mine to work. One thing to now is that I have my screen set to stretch so it takes up the whole screen on the OE side but I don’t think that makes a difference.

I would like to hear some feedback from any RC users that have the Lexion unit and see if theirs works.

Well at least we know it works well on the IS models.

Not every IS works InvereMP his joystick does not work either. I suspect some harness issue.

That’s how mine is on my 2016 IS. No jog mouse function on Lexus OS. Only button that works is menu.

When you press Menu in Lexus the cursor doesn’t show up at all or you just cannot move cursor?

those buttons work on the Lexion OS, and I can switch between Lexion and Lexus but can’t do anything once in Lexus OS. I can press the menu button and go back to Lexion, that’s about it.

I was talking to Ken Lee on WhatsApp yesterday the new manager at Lexion. He was helping me diagnose my issue. So far we tried a few settings and nothing worked. I think what we will do next is to try a firmware update and see if that works.

Apple carplay works great, sound quality is about the same as factory. Two issues which are really minor. The lexion doesn't integrate well with the factory mic, but you can still be connected to the factory system via bluetooth. Two, there is a slight delay of data being sent from the phone to the unit, which can get confusing if you have a bunch of turns in a row using google maps/waze. Otherwise its perfect. The carplay connects wirelessly as soon as i enter the car, which is awesome.

I know Eric can be hard to reach, but if you use whatsapp or kakao he responds within 12hours usually in my experience. Feel free to PM me on FB if anyone needs help. I am Matt Gong on the RCF Facebook group

Matt, thanks for providing this information. Have you found the system responds any quicker if you use the USB plug for CarPlay? Just curious on that part. (My preference is the wireless connection.) Does the trackpad work fine when you're in the Android/CarPlay side? You may have said that already and I just ran by it. If you did, sorry for asking a question you already answered .

In my experience the wired connection for CarPlay loads faster than the wireless connection. As far as speed while using them both they are the same. Loading speed is faster on wired. The track pad works flawlessly in the android mode.

I guess that's really all that matters with the trackpad since I won't be spending time in the OEM system.

For those of you that ordered this system - did they send you a text link with tracking information in WhatsApp, an email, or nothing at all? Did the package randomly show up on your doorstep one day and you never knew it was shipped?
