This is one of my biggest gripes with Lexus. I paid over 40k for a car and you make me need to pay an additional 80 per year to remote start the thing!?! annoying.
Hey, the current $80/yr is downright reasonable compared to the $249/yr it was for the 2015-2017's!
Even those are now down to $160 ($80 for the Safety Connect + $80 for the RS).
SC is now complimentary for 10 years.
The new UX is going to be available with a "Complete Lease" which will have the Remote Start,
Satellite XMSirius subscription, Insurance (!) and maintenance all included.

I’d rather have it not included unless they itemize the cost for me. You know they aren’t throwing it in for free although mine includes gap insurance.
I generally wouldn’t want to pay interest on those items.
Many manufacturers are going this way for remote start. The RDX and Santa Fe I test drove both charged monthly/yearly for remote start. I think it was actually more than Lexus.
The fob press kubakj describes is correct for both the Port or Dealer installed Remote Engine Start "RES" and the
Lexus Enform Remote "LER" systems. RES is paid for upfront and the fob works forever and LER is free 12 months and
then is subscribed. Both the phone and the fob work if subscribed...neither work when it expires.
