Remote Engine Start in Europe
Hi,
It seems that my new IS 300h can not be started remotely by Enform Remote because in Europe (the Netherlands) it seems not allowed to start your car remotely.
My dealer had never heard of remote engine start.
Does anybody know if the hardware for it is installed even in countries where it is not allowed?
Or a possibility to get the needed hardware otherwise?
I'm only interested in a way to start it through internet, like Enform Remote.
Thanks

The two popular web based remote starters in North America are the Viper SmartStart and Compustar Dr0neMobile systems. Both are subscription based services that communicate with an aftermarket starter in the car via cellular modem. If remote start is not legal in your country, I doubt Viper or Compustar would have infrastructure to support a web-based remote starter.

No, the Enform app is not available in the Netherlands. I downloaded it from internet.
The infrastructure for Enform is internet :-) So it could work anywhere in the world.
The only problem is that the VIN number of my car is not accepted on the Enform site because it's European.
And besides, I guess the needed hardware in my car is probably not installed, although it's standard in the US.
