Given the location of the unplugged holes, I would think that any resulting noise perceived in the interior of the car would be road/tire noise affect. Acura/Honda products I have driven have that road noise coming from below the car. However, most if not all of the wind noise encountered by LS 460 (L) owners and discussed here have been window (or maybe door) related in that there is a perceived leak or wind noise coming through or around the front windows.
Pursuing the plugging of these underneath holes certainly seems worthwhile but not sure it will address the wind noise issues that have been encountered by 07 owners. The wind noise I have had is certainly not coming from beneath the car and seems to be related to the front side windows, at least to my ears.
I should add that I have had no road noise and feel that is a non-issue completely with my 460L.
You are correct. Hole plugs and mirror drain hole sealing were the first "cure" attempts that Lexus came up with early in the game. It was only after the patient but persistent efforts of a few affected members here that they finally yielded and generated an acceptable (to most anyway) solution for this window problem, aka wind noise.
Had my 460L in for 10k service this week. Had TSIBs for ipod charger outlet, transmission, and wind noise fix performed as well. Wind noise was two parts - windows and mirrors. Got up to 65 mph tonight briefly and all appears well. Wasn't an extended time at this speed but all appears fixed.
I had the wind noise fixed at Concord Ca. Lexus in the SF Bay Area. It reduced the noise 95%. I was amazed. I bought the car for being quiet and was not pleased. I could not be happier with the fix. What ever they are doing it is working now. Fix done Feb. 7th, 2008.
can anyone give me the latest TSIB # and where to read it regarding wind noise on 07 SWB LS460. I am ready for my 10,000 mile service and my wife is complaining about the wind noise (I just turn up the radio--for her and the wind)
Interesting point - both Motor Trend and Automobile Magazine have long-term test reports of LS460's this month, and neither of them mentions anything about wind noise.
In fact, Motor Trend specifically made note of the LS's "air-tight cabin". I don't have the Automobile report in front of me, but after 30,000 miles, they made a specific reference to the silence of the LS's interior at road speeds.
Once again, not to say some of you haven't had wind noise issues. But this seems to substantiate the fact that it doesn't afflict all LS's ... and I personally think it's been fixed in the '08 models.
I just picked up my car from the dealer last night. This was 4th attempt at trying to fix my wind noise issue. I was told that there is nothing they can do to fix the wind noise in my car until Lexus redesigns side mirrors and the hood. I told them they were full of BS and told them to start the process of Lexus buying this car back. Not sure how it would work as I'm leasing this car and have 22 months left on the lease. If this was a bad design, then all of LS 460 L's would have this issue, but as far as I know only few have this, therefore, there must be something wrong with my car. We'll keep you updated once I hear from Lexus Corporate.
P.S. If anybody knows anything about Lease Lemon Law please post comments.

Don't expect a lot out of Lexus Corporate. In my experience they have been TOTALLY unresponsive in dealing with warranty issues or customer complaints. They will normally defer to the dealership's opinion and pretty much leave you stranded. I hope you have better response and luck with them that I had.

I have an 07 LS460 SWB and I also have the same wind noise, but yesterday I tried something and it seemed to make a big difference in the wind noise. I think the front windows are closing too tightly against the seal and it causes the wind noise. So I was driving about 100mph on the highway and I just pushed the power window down button for both front windows, I pushed it slightly just enough to take the pressure off of the seal, but not enough to cause air to come in and that seemed to have taken care of it. It made a big difference in the noise. I hope that this helps

Miketx - Those holes should have a spacer in them. I worked on a vehicle that had them missing the other day.
I have kind of avoided this thread because I dont see a lot of these issues, and dont want to give out misinformation. I do know that those plugs missing will contribute to wind noise. I would say if you take it to the dealer, they should order you some new ones under warranty. Read: should.

Thanks, Onepoint. It's on my list for the first oil change.
