Thanks for the update! Is this going to be for all LS460's accross the board or just for those who have brought their cars in to specifically fix this? I have a tiny amount of wind noise but I don't know if it is abnormal since I ahve never owned an LS before.

Trust me, it's not normal for a LS Lexus to have wind noise. This is my 4th LS and none of the others had wind noise, but this one does...

If a TSIB is issued does this mean every LS that comes in for service will be updated even if the customer does not complain of wind noise? Or, only for those who complain of the noise will be fixed? Just wondering.

Can I make a suggestion? It would be really much easier for all of us to follow the wind noise issue if it was posted on a single thread. There are enough of them now entitled "Wind Noise", "Wind Noise Update", etc. that it becomes difficult to check all of them to see the "latest". I just keep having to subscribe to more threads on the same matter. However, having it in one common thread will make it easier for everyone to see what is currently gong on with the issue. Just a thought for consideration...:)

Thanks for your updates on the wind noise issue, and I agree it would be best if further updates were added to a single thread rather than new ones. I may need to merge some threads, forthcoming. It will be easier to read the information if collected in one location.

I just spoke to the head tech at my dealer. The fix is out in short supply. They have not issued a TSB until Lexus has enough parts to fix all the cars. I am first on the list at my dealer and he's given my name to the Lexus field rep. It shouldn't be much longer. He knew nothing about replacing tires. He also said it won't be long for the transmission TSB. I hope to have both the trnasmission and windows done at the same time.

This will correct the hesitation on sudden hard accelerations after driving at 20, 30, 50 MPH for a long period of time, correct?

Mallery H......Thanks for the info and the update. I'm going to call my dealer today armed with your info. Also you did the right thing opening a new post titled "fix". The old posts are old and way to long to read and talk about hearsay anyway.

Thanks again,

Please please post what happens when you get the update done, part numbers used etc. And you can open a new post if you want.

PS Those of you who don't own a 460 or are not experiencing the wind noise I would hope you can refrain from commenting about the subject in this thread. It seems the people like me and MalleryH who are experiencing the problem are focused on the fix as soon as possible and extremely frustrated at this point. So far my dealer and lex corp are doing NOTHING to fix my problem. I see some members posting, mine is just fine just turn up the radio or comments like well Lexus is a great company they should come up with a fix soon. I really am annoyed, I would just like to hear people in this thread topic who are getting somewhere or heard facts on getting closer to a fix. I'm getting close to dumping this car if this is not resolved soon.

The trans TSB is for the hesitation when you pull away from a stop is what I've been told...

LS460: LOUD wind noise.. I think lexus should take my car for a test drive.. anyone else is welcome for a "joy" ride.. Transmission, yep, it's jumpy. tires? not too bad so far.. but i've had these tires before on the infiniti.. they last a LONG time.. but the sound/noise will get to you before it is time to replace them...

Just so you guys know, I've got the 5,000 mile service today and with it came a transmission software upgrade. The wind noise issue is about to be solved, as the techs told me I'm in the pipeline for the fix.

Before you went to the service, did you have any transmission problems? If so, could you briefly describe the problems you had?

And, which of the transmission problems were resolved by your software upgrade?

Thanks.
