Default LS 430 help. Won’t start!

Hi! First! My boyfriend made me buy this car and we broke up. I know nothing about cars but he used to come to this site for info! So Hi! My 2001 LS430 just won’t turn on or turn over. Completely dead. It was running perfect and had to attach a remote monitor for my insurance co. I couldn’t find the data port. Problem is I think I did something to make it not start? There was that key lock next to the steering wheel column and I pushed it in, So used key to unlock and it popped back out but car still won’t start. Help!!!! (Battery is new and I don’t think I ran it down as this happened in the span of 5 min). Should I try to jump the battery to start? Or is this a key lock problem?

If you cannot turn the ignition cylinder ("key lock"), give the steering wheel a tug (as if turning the wheel) and that should free it.

The key lock next to the steering wheel column is to lock the gas and fuel buttons. Its for valet purposes it doesnt have to do with the car starting.

If your battery is brand new please double check your fuses. Sounds like you blew a fuse or a fusible link which looks like this:

we tried turning and it worked a few times and I drove it. But yesterday I pushed it in all the way and it started. Later when I was going to drive it we tried several different things and it would not budge. But we never forced it or put too much pressure.
What now.

I learned the HARD way ten years ago...turn the steering wheel opposite the lock.
