Hi All. I'm new here, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I bought an Android Head Unit for my 2002 LS430. I can't get the air conditioning app to work. Everything else works perfectly. Previously I bought one from AliExpress and I didn't care for it. It has this little guy in there that you have to move around. And anyway, I find this one that I purchased to be a much more hands on and straightforward with great graphics.

I've heard that there something you shouldn't plug in and the air app will work. Has anyone had this issue and found a solution? I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Make sure canbus is set correctly. Try different settings for the Toyota and Lexus but make sure stay within the maker of the firmware. My 2001 did not connect to any of the top connecters from car.

 

I appreciate your response. Yes I have worked with the canbus quite a bit without success. I love everything else about this. The air conditioner and heater still work I just can't see what the temperature is.

 

I have purchased the Android head unit for my 02 LS430 and I'm wondering if anyone has a video of someone wiring their unit to the backup camera and installing it. If there is one I'd love to see it would appreciate you attaching it and thank you very much in advance.

 

I can't see temp on mine either but I have full functions in AC app like swing defrost auto fan etc. Do you have that?

 

No I don't have that the entire app just seems locked up. Nothing on the air conditioning app works at all

 

Make sure connected to internet when going through canbus. Mine downloaded with each choice with different AC app. Your 2002 is like my 2001. Do not hook up OBDII connector. For test from unit to car only have the Y connector connected and make sure original small connector is connected behind cd unit

Could you explain a bit more about "Do not hook up OBDII connector. For test from unit to car only have the Y connector connected and make sure original small connector is connected behind cd unit." Not sure what the OBDII & Y connector are. So I should plug the original small connector into the CD and not run it though the bundle wires that came with the Android Head Unit and then connect it?

 

Do the buttons on the side work? (not the screen - the physical button)

 

Most of these harnesses come with a OBDII connector that goes to OBDII port on car to use with app like a scan tool. Hooked mine up and something didn't work but don't remember. The Y is the 2 big connectors 1 goes in back of CD and 1 connects from car that went into CD. The small connector from car goes direct back to CD unit and if not done that then that is the problem of AC.

 

Hooked it up that way but still no go. The air and heater work fine I just can't see temperature. I've put it all back together so live with it for now. I appreciate your help and suggestions .

Dont wanna create a parts cannon but there is a unit out there that shows the temp on the left side - I am going to try and find the link to yours on the site just to reference it. Wish ali had more customer reviews. It would be great if you get this sorted out. This seems to be the weakest link when replacing the OEM Nav with these aftermarkets. I am still working a lot of other issues with my hooptie but will eventually get to the sound - I pulled the left door panel and the ML speakers are missing - more fun - goodluck and keep posting - If I can find that other link that got the temp sorted out I will post. It may be a different unit. This Kunfine you have shows up on Amazon

 

someone said last week here the vents are overrated - lolz - I think it's pretty neat - my left one is sluggish
