How does this stack up against grom android integration thingy? https://gromaudio.com/store/vline/le...n-upgrade.html

For me, it was cheaper, more options and more flexibility. I would probably go with the grom unit if I had an 07+ Ls

Flexibility as in? What really puts me off from the alibaba one is that it looks so unfittinng on the LS dashboard, and on the Grom side, it's stupidly expensive for what it is. I am at a loss as to what to put! I'm thinking on just using my past phone as a google maps guide and use an FM Bluetooth transmitter but i know the quality is not the same.

Default Grom vline2

I did a lot of research on this the three main options for an ls430 navi model are
this unit which recently came out
Grom v Line 2
car Solutions Android box cs2390a

V-line 2 was released recently and there seems to be a lot of bugs and who knows if they will ever get fixed like the original v-line had and never got fixed

seems like gron released an unfinished product with ccustomers being the test betta Market

But some people are very happy with it but the price is outrageous with what it is.. Basic android box

Thanks to our Chinese comrades I think this my best option but again it depends what you really want from the unit I'm looking to install an aftermarket audio system and have Google Maps at my fingertips which I think this unit will provide

I'm also wondering if I would be able to swap out a tablet to fit into this case and transfer the climate control software into it but that's neither here or there just yet

Oh and the price I got and placed an order with was 355 shipped to USA

Good to know the grom one is trash, i too want to only use google maps on the unit and nothing more, perhaps i'll be better with a discrete phone mount, or using an ipad + the grom aux/bluetooth adapter.

IMO the flexibility comes from customization. From screen images, to apps, you can use it how you desire. Not to mention it is a larger unit, and puts out a clearer image. For example I used Google maps for my navigation on the unit. Admittedly, it was a few more pushes, but worth it to me.

The unit is very much so plug and play especially with the instructions listed in this forum...but then again as always if you dont feel comfortable it is probably best to take it somewhere. I am not sure if your aftermarket radio would make a difference in the installation. Hope you enjoy the finished product. Congratulations on 100k!

Default Unit Received

Hey guys good news I received the unit today it arrived surprisingly fast in about a week's time

355 shipped
they also included the reverse camera

my question is on the "can bus decoder" Box
I have software version 107
hardware version 1.1

what does yours say?
by comparing them I wonder if we can see if they had made any modifications to the software and Hardware versions

Let me know when you get a chance star

Default Help

Hey guys please disregard the previous post I looked through the pictures and saw that everybody has the same hardware version as well as the software version on the can bus decoder

HW V1.1
SW V107

I haven't been able to have time to install the unit but just looking through the posts can someone please confirm=

the wire with the purple orange and green =does not get used in a 2004 - 2006 model? (Which I have)

Also there's a wire in the main harness which says "back" =
it is a brown wire

please let me know what that connects to if anything?

Thank you for your help in advance guys

Thank you for the reply hopefully I'll have some time this Sunday to install the unit keep you guys posted

I'm really surprised there isn't more interest or demand for this unit maybe it's a bit too early /maybe people don't know that this is out =that a replacement head unit for our cars is available there's so many posts of how terrible the Grom V line is
