Thanks! I'll try it knowing it's easily reversible

I'll be very interested in your feedback.

I've read through the whole thread and there seems to be a mixed bag of feedback.

Agreed so I figured I'd just try it myself when I get the car and then decide what I like or don't like. I like the idea of lower end sound but don't like the idea of losing the higher end noises and pops and crackles, so seems like it'll be a tradeoff and a matter of preference.

I'll update this thread after I try it out.

if U pull the fuse before starting does the exhaust sound like when U start it up. mines under warranty for 3.5 years from now and does it affect warranty.

So I was studying the wiring diagrams for the exhaust valves thinking there has to be a better way than having loose plugs under the car that can get wet, get too hot, or just plain corrode from being exposed.

And sure enough, there's a single fuse that runs the exhaust valve ECU's and the valves themselves. If you just pull that, it's a much cleaner way of disabling the valves. And a lot easier to boot, just pull a fuse in the trunk.

Has anyone ever done this before?

Fuse: EFI No. 5, 15 Amp, Color: Blue
Location: Under trunk floor

This will set 2 codes, one for each valve, just like unplugging the valves does. However they do not illuminate the MIL. So no lights on the dash. 30-second mod. Replace the fuse and you're back to stock.

And if you're so inclined, you can put a switch across the fuse pins and toggle between stock and disabled (either open or closed - would depend whatever state they are in when you toggle it).

Have fun!
you’re doing the lords work there buddy ! Thank you kindly for this.

Correct. When off, the valves are open. If you pull the fuse with the car off, they will stay in the open state.

That shouldn't affect any warranties as you are not changing anything. HOWEVER, all warranty companies are in the business of making money and their top priority is finding a way to deny your claim. Most won't notice nor care that you have done this mod. But to be safe, if you take it in for any service, replace the fuse and clear the codes. The only way they would know this was done is if they scan the PCM and see these codes. If you return to stock and clear the codes you should be ok but anything is possible so tread lightly if you are at all concerned.
