I did NOT perform any bedding, only followed the guidelines in the manual for the break-in period (i.e. no heavy braking/avoid sudden stops for the first 180 miles).
500miles is not enough for the brake to have squealing issue. Mine was quiet to 1200miles and it’s now starting to squeal occasionally. I guess it depends on the temp and humidity.
Regardless, to me, I will drive it to 5k or 10k depending on how bad the squealing and do the TSB. I did this on my GSF and no squealing.
I’ve came to term with the brake dust. That’s why I have the black rims on.

Is the TSB applicable to 24s? I can only find reference for it up to 2022.

Good question. Maybe it needs to be updated. But the pad will definitely squeal. Mine is doing more and more. First noticed it at 1200 or so. Not to a point where I want to take them off yet. But I can see the same brake squealing problem as my GSF.

Interesting. I'll see how it goes and then try bedding them in if it's too annoying

Bedding your brakes so that it won’t squeal no more.

^^^^For the past few years, I have been bedding my brakes on every car and truck I own. I have smelled the pad material in the process, but I have never had glowing discs

Default Lexus Brake issue LC

Absolutely love the car, the sound, the comfortability, quite frankly this car has the best seats I've ever sat in, for a car. The attention the car gets is crazy, people think its a concept running down the streets. As long as you don't consider this car more than just a GT Cruiser, you will not be disappointed. But I have one issue... THE BRAKES!! :-( They have been squeaking for the past week, so I took it to Valencia Lexus for service, to get it checked out.. I got the car back, and the following explanations were given to me.

- The brakes are "GLAZING"
- The rotors are turning "BLUE"
- Don't drive the car too "HARD"
- The brakes are fine
- The rotors look good

I tell my service guy there, I have had many cars in the past, performance, exotic, whatever may have you. Ive never heard of any of the excuses you just gave me, I don't understand what you mean by "GLAZING" or turning "BLUE" and isn't this car a sports car? I should be able to drive it hard, which in all honesty I don't. I drive the car in Sport + at all times and use the paddle shifts.. If I want to drive a comfort car ill use a diff vehicle.. I don't really twist and turn the car.. So I drive off, and nothing was changed, if anything it sounds worse now.. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do about this? Or have heard of any of these excuses in the past? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU!!!

It all depends what year some of the pre- 2013s had those issues Lexus was nice enough to replace them with the new brakes. If you're not happy with the dealers excuse which is totally BS call Lexus customer service they're great to deal with.

Or should they be bed regardless? I would struggle to find open stretch of roadway even at night to be able to do the procedure of 4-6 warm up stops from 45mph-15mph and then 4-6 80mph-30mph stops followed by 5+ miles of brake free drive.
Bed them regardless.... I do it on every customer brake job I do, it is a very important step regardless of your driving style.

over 2200 miles now and still no squeaky brakes for me. We'll see if the incoming cooler temps in a few months change things, but until then I'm not gonna fix what ain't broke

I have about 1800miles on my ‘24 and the brakes are squealing almost as loud as my kid’s school bus.
I’m ready to change them out via the TSB. I don’t need the stopping power on these high performance brake.
The latest doc I found includes up to 2022. Anyone with newer model has done the TSB?

No. Not gonna do it.
Will talk to the dealer and get the TSB done. My GSF was the same way and I already expected to do the same on the LC.

Swapping my squealing oem rear pads with a Project Mu set. Do I need to re-use the 2 thin metal shims/spacers from the oem pads, or just slide in the replacements without the shims? Thanks!
