^^^^No, it is not too late to bed-in the brakes. Just do it properly to generate enough heat. I have the Hi-Po pads on my LC. The first thing I did when I picked up my LC was to bed-in the brakes. I have no noise and my pads have a nice feel and good performance.

You give me hope, Lou! I did try stopping abruptly from 40 miles an hour a few times yesterday, which I think helped a little bit - but not much. Is that the proper way to embed them, or do you have any other tips?

I spend quite a bit of time either bedding in brakes for customers or instructing customers on how to do it. It's a violent situation that most people can't push to do, let alone look in their rearview to avoid getting hit. Several higher-speed(70) to low-speed (30) firm pedal engagements to the point of diminishing brake performance and pad smell are what you have to do. Then let them cool down without pressing them again(5-10 miles or so). So think long open highway and no one behind you.
If you don't want to go through that frequently, we do offer a more temperature-favorable brake compound that will have better low speed bite and keep the noise to a minimum. Front and rear pads are in stock. https://shopfigs.com/v5/index.php?ro...=lc500%20brake

Any issues with overheating the brakes and causing damage (rotor, tires)? In Aviation we've had numerous fires/blown tires (even tires with fuses) from Customers performing multiple braking runs to reduce chatter, cleaning and grabby brakes. I get the vehicle differences, just wondering about the temperatures (aircraft I've worked on had brake temperature displays).
I bed-in the brakes on all my vehicles. I do it late at night on the freeway. When it's late the road is less traveled and if there is anyone behind you, you will be able to see headlights. As far as heat, it's not an issue. It gets hot enough to smell, but not to cause a flame.
What is the latest consensus for bedding the high performance pads? Necessary if not driving the vehicle hard and mainly using for street/commute purposes?
Or should they be bed regardless? I would struggle to find open stretch of roadway even at night to be able to do the procedure of 4-6 warm up stops from 45mph-15mph and then 4-6 80mph-30mph stops followed by 5+ miles of brake free drive.
If anyone is wondering I have the Hi performance pads that come with the bespoke package and after 500 miles of easy driving, I have not noticed any squealing of the brakes. They dust sure, but that's easy to take care of with coated wheels. I did NOT perform any bedding, only followed the guidelines in the manual for the break-in period (i.e. no heavy braking/avoid sudden stops for the first 180 miles).
I mean if they start squealing I'll give it a try but until then I dont see the point. The brakes are strong and grippy as is, I'm not out here stomping the pedal.
I'm mainly concerned about the amount of dust generated, I'm typically pretty easy on brakes
I'm not a clean freak & don't clean my cars nearly often enough but the brake dust from the factory pads on my Supra & GR Yaris drove me nuts, the GRY were terrible, grippy pads but noticeable dust after just 50 miles
I got ceramic pads for both & happy days, unsure as to whether they will be required on my LC
I guess time will tell, also unsure if ceramic pads are available for the 24 yet, they appear to be different to previous models ?
So far the '24 LC brakes are just as dusty as my GS F-Sport brakes were, no bueno. I coated my wheels so that's already helped immensely just in the difference driving before coating and after coating, so I think that'll hold me over until pad replacement is due at which point I'll switch to a low-dust pad, assuming availability in a couple years time.
Coating and cleaning the wheels is one thing... but holy hell does the back end of the car accumulate all dust that the wheels don't And with that dust a quick detailer and cloth isn't the best thing.
My LC was 10x worse than my GS F-Sport until I changed pads (on both). Basically any Toyota I'll get from now on will get some type of ceramic pad immediately, lol

That's my concern from my previous experience with the GRS & GRY
The LC is a much nicer car & deserves way better than those two
I will have to find a suitable ceramic pad for the 24 LC somehow

Oh I suppose I haven't had it long enough to experience this yet! Hopefully ceramic on the paint on the rear + PPF will allay those concerns for me, but that sounds crazy if brake dust is accumulating like that on exterior panels! That did not happen on the GS by any means lol
