Radar Detectors?

I have owned the R3, R4, and most recently, the R8. Running the R8 in my Daily driver and the R4 in my M3. Great, reliable units. I have them each hardwired to the rearview mirror for aesthetics. Uniden introduced a "W" model, which enables firmware updates via Wi-Fi instead of the web-based method.

I use a 360C max (1st gen). It had great reviews and found a used one to save a few bucks. Has been working great, most staties around me keep their radar on the whole time so I've picked them up literally miles away.
The direction arrows can be a bit misleading driving through a bunch of hills, but I'm guessing that would hold true with any unit.
After having it for quite a while - if I were to buy a new one I'd go with whatever unit has the best K band filtering. So many new cars and trucks use the K band, so the constant alerts while driving get annoying. Having my filter set to the max helped tremendously, but I'm wondering if the newer gen or higher end models have made it better.
Like pretty much anything that uses a suction cup on the windshield - get a fixed mount with whatever one you choose.

There is a very good guy on YouTube, called Vortex Radar, he specializes in radar detectors. As far as recommendations go, I've been usind RD's for over 50 years and have had countless brands. As far as detectors go, are you looking for a window mount or concealed mounting? Difference could be thousands of dollars. If you do get a window unit, do get one with arrows, very much worth the small additional costs.
