Haven't used a detector in over 20 years but now might have a need. Back in the day, I wouldn't leave home without my Valentine Detec and Rocky Mnt Jammer but as they aged out I just started being more careful. On the interstate the other day out in the boonies and looked at the HUD and I was running 95. I knew I was moving but had no idea I was going that much over. Back to the subject, has anyone ever hard wired any device from the upper light panel? Having a power cord hanging down would be a show stopper. TIA
I just installed mine. This is my first radar detector ever, and it proved to be working/useful last week when I was going on US-64 and radar flagged a stationary cop some half-mile away that Waze did not know about.
Some pics of the install.
Let me know if you are around RTP area, happy to meet for a coffee.
I have a V1 G2 and hard wired to the fuse box.
I couldn’t find a switched 12v feed at the mirror so just ran a wire down behind the trim to the driver side fuse box and then added a “add a fuse” .
Was pretty easy to do.
