It's really not bad at all....and it can always be undone if you're using the clamps. I love it. 👍🏾
As I think about it more, the slight discoloration might be a good thing. Many tips with burnt ends come at a premium. The Tim's Tips are naturally tinted at no cost 😁. I have the clamps and will definitely use them. The last couple weeks it's been single digit and sub-zero temps, since my garage is not heated, I'll tackle this when the weather warms up.

Dumb question, why did you spray the pipes with the VHT Flameproof Clear finish
I decided to NOT spray these tips. I have used the VHT in the past on my old BMW M6 exhaust tips and it worked well to protect the tips as well as made them a breeze to clean. All I had to do was wipe with a paper towel and they would be spotless.

Yep, tip coloration comes baked in with the "TimTips," as you stated, "at no cost!"

Which product did you use on your BMW M6 exhaust tips?

So, the VHT will make the tips easier to clean. Does it do anything to prevent discoloration? And why didn't you spray these tips?

It did prevent coloration on those tips but they were not 304 stainless. I don't remember the grade of stainless, it was about 15 years ago.
I didn't spray these because I didn't care if they discolored, I just wanted to be able to see the quad tips.

Fair enough.
I'm still waiting for my pipe stock. It's like when I was 17 y/o and waiting to be 18... feels like 2 years.
