Ok guys, I made the call cause I still have not received the coupon or letter stating the extended powertrain warranty.
Here is something to note. If you have your car registered at one address, and then moved, you will not receive the amenities package at the correct address unless you have updated it online. The recall letters are mailed usin the DMV system, thus will always have your current address if you have a valid license. The amenities package is sent using their corporate addresses from your initial registration.
That being said, my amenities package was apparently sent out OCT 2010. I had the recall letter around Nov 2010. And I performed the recall Jan 4th 2011.
So if you have not received the amenities package, call to confirm your address, they can tell you exactly when it was mailed and they can mail you a new one. The old one gets voided.
The next thing.. You must have the extended powertrain warranty purchased to get the $500 gift card. I played dumb and said I don't know if I have the warranty. The guy then validated on the system that I did not have it. Thus no $500 gift card.
I then requested to be opted out of the powertrain warranty to have the gift card instead. I explained that I've had too many issues with the car, and that I will trade it in and cause use the gift card and $1500 certificate towards a new one instead. I have an 06 model so the extended warranty expires in nov for me anyway and would be worthless. He said he never had anyone ask that, so he put me on hold to check with someone else. He came back saying it was a firm policy to only give the giftcard for those that originally purchased the extended warranty and that I am stuck with it. He said there wasn't anything he could do.
So that's that. No sway bars or exhaust for me just yet it seems. Owell, it was worth a shot.

WOW, this thread turned out to be a FAIL.
Just called back. Turns out the previous owner had an extended warranty which did NOT xfer to me when I bought it so I'm not getting it. So the guy I spoke to apologized and said he made a mistake.
All I have is the 6 year/100k powertrain warranty. Well its 2 years extended from when my original 4 year ended so I'm covered until 11/12. Bah, I guess its better then nothing.

As stated before it just mostly for those who have cpo and extended warranty. They paid the 1600 and getting 500 of there money back since everyone get the extended powertrain. If everyone got the 500 then people who paid for the warranty would have to get more back which i dont think Lexus want to pay out on.

Anyway better to have something than nothing. The $1500 certificate is no use to me. I won't be buying a Lexus within the next year so yeah, in the trash it goes.
I just bought my 2007 IS350 2 or 3 weeks ago...I assume these gift cards will go to the person registered as the owner when this recall took place? When was that?
I of course don't expect to get the gift card since I didn't own the car when the issues took place, but boy it'd be nice. I really want those sway bars..

Back on topic, I bought my car 12/2010 so I'm pretty sure I'm out of grasp. Maybe it'll go towards the previous owner who leased the car?
This is crazy...why are they telling everyone something different??? There is another thread on this and it should probably be merged, I posted my results on that but I'll post here too.
I called today and told them i got the free PT warranty in the mail I think in December, I also told them I bought the car used in 2007. They asked my name and pulled up my information since I am registered on the lexus site. Now, I will say, that when I called I said to the guy that I heard about all these people getting $500 gift cards and wanted to know if I qualified for one. SO that is when I gave him all that other info. so anyway, he transferred me to another lady in a diff. dept. She said the third party company entered them into their system last Friday and that I should get my card this week or next and she even had me verify my address. She said if i don't get it by the 18th to call her back. Soooooo...why everyone else is getting different answers on this is beyond me. I guess I will wait and see if it comes or not!
Although it's only $500, its still $500 I didn't have before and that is always a nice thing!

For me, that $500 can go to textbooks and a nice set of springs. Bottom line is, money's money, and if you don't need the extra $500, then good for you but there's no need to make a snide remark. This is an entry-level sports sedan, not a LS600h.
