When I start my car the climate control does not turn on and the front defrost button blinks. I am not able to do anything with the climate control for about a min. Then the nav screen displays climate control OFF, then I’m able to use the climate controls. If you’re asking I do not turn off the climate control when I turn off the car I leave it on Auto. It just started doing it this weekend. What’s weird is if I just put the car to ON the climate control works fine, it’s just when I start the car it does it. I already made an appointment with Lexus.
Is it just me or are we seeing more and more of these quirky problems? I'm starting to see why in Consumer Reports the only category in which the IS did not excel was the "Electrical" category...

Well, I just kinda look at it this way.... With so many more things in a car there is just so many more things to go wrong. It does seem like Toyotas largest problem is in fact Denso, as I have noticed a lot of nav problems...

I've only seen a few posts about issues around here. That's pretty remarkable given the complexity of this car.
I would take that one to the dealer just in case...
Why? From what I'm reading here there is nothing wrong. The reason the climate system does not come on immediately is that it waits for the car to warm up some until it can provide heat in the cabin rather than blow cold air.
When the temperature outside is warmer I've noticed it comes on right away. Look, the car is pretty sophisticated so just let it do it's thing before you dump on Lexus....
the dealer said that they have to order a new AC control module or something like that. So the car will be back to the dealer when the part comes in. Hopefully it work after.
