NEW WHEELS 06GS Causing problems with VSC and Air Pressure System
I recently added a new set of wheels for my GS and the check VSC light as well as the Check System light have come on. At first, the air pressure light was blinking for a month until it went off completely for over a month on its own. Then, all of the sudden the other day the Check VSC and Check System lights have come on and i dont know what the problem is. Lexus tells me to tighten my gas cap and the problem will go away. Obviously, it has not gone away and i dont know what to do. Any help will be appreciated.
thanks

I had a similar thing happen with my 06GS but I didn't change the wheels. I got the check VSC and even the check engine light. It was close to when I was due for regular service so I mentioned it to the dealer and they came back and said that they had to change some computer on the car. It was covered under warranty and the problem hasn't come back. The air pressure light could be not enough air in the tire from the sensor or maybe something with the new tires. hope this helps
hmmm i have the same problem. my vsc light came on a day after i lowered my car. then it went away after like a couple weeks. the only time i c that light come on now is when i hit a rough bump like railroad tracks. Do you guys think it has something to do with it being lowered?

Just picked my car up from Lexus and i was told that the Check VSC light was from my gas cap having a leak. The guys at lexus of Towson in MD have really been great. I guess they have a particular machine that can check the gas cap to see if there was a leak. Problem fixed there, but i need to find a retailer for TPMS that i can add to my aftermarket wheels. Any suggestions??
thanks

Before you install the sensors on the wheels you need to record the serial number of each sensor. The serial number is used to program the vehicles "2nd tire" set (button under the gloves box). I had my wheels programmed at the Lexus dealer. The parts dude was cool and had one of the techs program my wheels sensors for the 2nd tire set without being charged through the service department.
The sensors are made by "Pacific". You could also try shopping around somewhere else as well. We got our GS when it first came out so the sensors were difficult to find.
Hey Guys,
I actually had the same problem. I have a 2006 gs300 AWD - it just happend on Tuesday. I took it into service and they said it was a problem with the computer. I had some other wierd problems (such as a sulfur smell when I accellerated up hill) that were actually caused by this computer issue (due to fuel or something being too rich). My service adviser said it was posted on the lexus website about this problem. It should still be under warranty. Hope this helps!
