I installed an aftermarket AEM cold air intake in my car. After a month of driving, my check VSC(vehicle stability control), and my check engine light came on.
I got a new battery, and the lights went away for a couple days but came back. I have cleaned the senor mutiple times, but it keeps coming back. The codes for the check engine light are
0101 - mass air flow circuit problem
0174 - system too lean
Im pretty sure the intake is just pushing more air through the car than what it is used to, thats why my light is on. I am asking how to get rid of those lights. Should I try re tuning my car? If I do re tune it, will it be hard to pass smog or anything? PLEASE HELP!!
really stupid but check the brake light switch. had the same thing happen however it also shut off the vsc and such as well over a bad brake light switch.
Thats weird that a break light switch would throw a lean code and a mass air circuit problem. Some times electronics are all kinds of unpredictable tho. It sounds like your mass air sensor isn't reading correctly. Make sure you have it plugged in all the way and you didn't damage it when removing, and installing it. Good luck!
