General EV Conversation
What have I said I "disdain" about EVs?

I still indirectly own my old 2003 ES300!

I have a quote from solar panel provider for a Tesla Wall lease, but I went over the numbers, and it just doesn't make financial sense. I would need two Tesla walls to support charging our three EV'S plus other power needs, and at $235 a month and an annual increase of 2.99 percent, it's more expensive than my True-up with PG&E. Sure, I would love to not give or take a single kWh to those thieves, but it has to still make sense financially. So instead I'm going to invest about $1000 in a generator, (probably natural gas) so I can be fully prepared for the oncoming zombie apocalypse
How do you stop a jet ski? 👇
Will a Tesla or any EV with 1 pedal driving engaged stop if you let off the gas? In a Tesla with 1pd engaged you’re sitting at a red light, will the car move without your foot being on the brake?
Sounds like he loves them!!
And for the record, I got my money on @AJT123 buying an EV before @SW17LS will once he realize all his beloved V8s are actually slow
🤣😂
interesting analogy. i don’t agree with that. a jetski is crazy abrupt. on my tesla, it’s smooth even if you let your foot off the gas completely. there’s also a setting to have less regen which presumably lets it coast a bit more.
but of course you can modulate the gas pedal… it’s not all or nothing.
the tesla implementation of 1 pedal driving is MUCH better than on my hyundai. still not sure why on hyundai you can’t leave 1 pedal engaged all the time… it turns off every time you turn off the car.

Mine will come to a complete stop if I let off the "gas" and it will hold the brake until I put my foot on the "gas" again. Unless there is an emergency, I could and do make entire trips without ever touching the brake pedal.

figured you'd know these things since you've rented teslas.

a tesla will. other cars, it varies. my ioniq 5 will in "i-pedal" mode which you can't leave on all the time.
no. it's really perfectly done. and when it does come to a stop with plenty of space to do it, it's as smooth as a chauffeur.

Everyone I’ve rented had it enabled.
