I forgot to mention the X will also have HW4 apparently. Going crazy over this decision...argh.

The gullwing doors scare me because of my 6 year old son, otherwise I think they're funky in a cool way. I'm not as concerned with newer X reliability.

Btw - I just got the vin# now!!!! 3 days to decide.....may try to delay the S more lol.

Vote for the S Plaid . Not an fan of vans (that's what the X looks like to me).

Both are stupid fast though, so it's not about speed.

ST430, hameed and i are friends from way back... he loves his S and it's certainly a great car. i personally think if someone wants a really fast car it should be smaller and more nimble. but i also like the practicality and roominess of suv's, which is why i have a boring suv and a fun coupe. i understand where hameed is coming from though, a large van-like vehicle doesn't say 'cool' really, even if it's blisteringly fast. but since you've had an s plaid and you change cars like most people do underwear anyway, i say go for the x to try something different.

That's just it though, the S is very practical and roomy because it's a hatchback. It's not as roomy as say a Sienna or Chrysler Pacifica for example, but how much room do you really need?
I'm never going to a track with my S - I have zero interest in that , so for all intents and purposes it's more "nimble" than I'll ever need. 🙂

It was a pre facelift X, but after watching my MILs falcon wing door open in her garage and hit the roof, I don't trust them anymore

your choice is a single 'do it all' car, and the tesla s does it very very well. there's a range of driving between going to the track and driving to the grocery store though.
your hatchback can't handle anything very tall, though, like a table or dresser. not saying one moves something like that every day, but it sure is handy when you need it.
all vehicles are trade-offs, but as you know, i like having 2 vehicles for the fun/practical vs 1.

Lol..I figured if I'm going to spend all this money on something without a discount, might as well make it the way I like it! 😁

This one? It's the only blue color available on any Tesla

Tesla blue is pretty dull in real life when not exposed to a lot of light and HDR enhanced. I wish it was more like Lexus Structural Blue...my fav...

yes, structural blue is incredible, and an incredible paint process i hear which most body shops will never be able to match!
