Are red Teslas so rare / noticeable where you are?

 

@ST430 My friend just bought a BMW iX xDrive50, he's expecting delivery in about a month or two. I'll post a review of it when he takes delivery of it. Got it for MSRP. He was originally buying a Model Y, but his wife didn't like the one screen and the ride, which I suspect is from the 20" wheels. Also they were looking for all the luxury comforts, which Tesla's don't offer.

Look forward to him getting it so I can take it out and put it through it's paces

red is more rare to me, but now i'll be on the lookout for them (red car syndrome for reals)!

 

I haven't....I have 2 reservations now: my red s plaid (which I delayed) and now a white x plaid.....whichever comes first, I will get lol..

The iX is cool: better amenities and some useable cool tech (like the electrochromic sunroof). Which it looked better and had more power though!

 

well that's interesting... since you'd already shown us a pic of the red s i figured you could pick it up whenever.

what's the decision points between the s and x?

i know you got a great deal on the s, but how does the price cuts affect that and your decision?

i personally would take an x over an s. the x to me has a wow factor with the doors and the space, and it's still crazy fast.

 

Ya I'm ina bit of a pickle here:

Model S:
Pros : speed, discounted heavily, more options, cooler looking, better handling
Cons : depreciates quicker, arrest me red color, had before

Model X:
Pros : White color, family oriented, haven't had before, better resale value (in demand), different, 6 seater
cons: Not as fast, unknown long term reliability (doors, electronics), heavier, not discounted

Basically my ego says Model X, but my iid says model s lol

What would u guys get? Price is a wash now after the price reduction.

 

i already said what i'd get but from your posts, i'd say get the s. is the plaid x much slower?

 

Personally, I would get the Model X because of some of what you have mentioned. It has the utility of an SUV, family hauler and trip vehicle. Than you blow the doors off of that expensive sports car, go home and the next morning, commute to work in comfort, stop at Lowes on your way home to pick up those 10 bags of soil for your garden, rinse and repeat

 

as far as problems, you'll probably have 'em with either.

i watched some of this x review video the other day and stopped at the part when she said the a/c just randomly stops working.

 

I think this is an issue with some Plaids AC compressors. I know at least two people who had to have them changed, thankfully under warranty
