For all of the driving enthusiasts here, I went with my son to see the Gran Turismo movie yesterday. I highly recommend it, have to say I didn't really know what to expect but it was WAY better than I thought it would be. Had no idea about the story behind this, but it's a really cool (and true) story. I also think this is one of those movies you really want to see in the theater.
Steve - I like that blue color of the S class and the interior it appears to be pictured with (looks like baseball glove ish color) looks awesome. Would you consider that inside? And I was seriously hoping you were getting the i7...!
SW17LS, my favorite color of the S class you are planning to order is the blue and second goes to green. Whatever you choose, you really can’t go wrong.
Mercedes does an excellent job making even entry level luxury cars look premium. The exception is the CLA, which looks cheap to me. It’s still good enough to fool non car people because it’s a Mercedes. When the CLA came out, I had some friends who were technicians at a dealership here in CA (they left to make more $ in completely different careers) and they said the CLA was a nightmare for them. Customer reports interior rattles was a common complain and the techs heard them too, but couldn’t resolve them. Are they better than other cars starting around $38k? Difficult to say.
yeah I hate the CLA, GLA and GLB...so cheap inside. I actually refuse them as loaners lol

I like that, my only issue is its not wood, its just piano black. I have an aversion to paying extra for something that isn't wood, and with the black interior I feel it needs some warmth...

Yeah thats very similar to the Flaxen I had on my GS, I like that a lot too
Can not go wrong with Diamond White or Black. Those are the only colors I would get if I get a MB.

I know you didn't ask me but I trade in my leases all the times. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose... a little because I just want to get out of the lease.

Flaxen on a GS... Good old day memories. Best midsize sedan. Was your Liquid Platinum?
Wow, just noticed the upgraded sound system is $6,800! Is there more to it than most upgrades? I haven't seen a sound system upgrade that expensive.
The top-tier audio systems in luxury brands are astonishingly good. One of the options I wish had been available on my M3 is the Bang & Olufsen audio, which probably would have been around $5,500 if it were offered. Would have checked that box before anything else on the options list. The mid-tier Harmon Kardon system it came with is ok at best.
If I were buying an S-class, the Burmeister would be non-negotiable.

Here is a really good picture of the rubellite red
This color gets my vote. I never really considered it myself until I spotted a GT63 in rubellite while I was on a business trip. It looks fine with the black interior but best with Sienna brown.

Although I never saw detached trim pieces of that to see what's inside, but from I've heard, it is a wood veneer with black lacquer finish on top just like black piano, plus the lines means extra costs for workmanship. I like the trim parts with curvy lines in particular, so elegant and sexy at the same time.

So it really is high end work.
Cool deal, I honestly thought it might be plastic but was hoping it wasn't.
Wood veneer is not cheap to put in a design.
My dad was a master boat interior builder and they use the finest veneers for high end yachts.
Depending on the purse, high end exotics sometimes too and they line the whole interiors with the veneers on the big money yachts.

Yeah its a really expensive upgrade, thats why you almost never see it on an in stock unit. I wouldn't pay for it except that I was disappointed in the base Burmester in my S560, and the units on the ground have other options I would skip making the MSRP similar to having it anyways.

My issue with Black is its everywhere, and I have diamond white now. If I got a new one in diamond white nobody would even notice it was new lol

Yeah I'm sure it is. I would choose that with the flaxen or the gray interior, but with the all black its just a little too all black for me
